Right, now I have my foglight grills in!!
I want to use the foglight switch as a fan over ride facility to switch my fans on in traffic. Now as I have two fans, can I just make up a loom to go from the foglight connection to each fan across the + and - , or is that a pants idea. I know the usual way is just to bridge the fan switch, but it would be easier using the existing foglight wiring!!
Any help greatly appreciated!!

Kev, you need to check the rating of the wiring that goes to the fog lamps, I assume the lights draw less current than the fans at full pelt. You may end up with smoke and a funny burnt plastic smell if the wiring can't take it.
Hi,
The fans on a Cos have a 15A fuse in, however this melts everynow & again, as I found out the other day.
Apparently the prob is that the wires used aren't big enough. I measured the fans at 15A, although I had to use a 20A to overcome the start up surge that you get. I think fogs are 55W each, which means they'll pull 9.1A. The upshot of which is that you can't use your fog switch to power your fans.
One easy way around this if you really want to use the existing wiring is to disconnect one of your fans. There is a connector from one to the other. I'm told that cooling won't be dramatically affected & you should be able to use your fog switch to override.
Hope this helps,
Si.

Is all you need to do is connect your foglamp switch in parralell with the fan switch on the bottom of your rad. Do this by splicing & soldering into the two wires coming from the fan switch. Job done. No high currents to worry about either.
