any ideas how to get it basically?currently running 2l zetec t3, estimate on costs, parts required, any benifits besides the bulge that u get down below when you here it,(or the excited twitch if youre a gal,i hope) would love to have it,just a few ideas if its within budget, thanx
What management are you running. MFI is classic for deadening the sound. All chatter is, is turbine stall. If you have a DV then u won't get chatter, and even if u did the DV would drown it.

not sure what managements on it,standard i think, mfi??? nothing programable/mappable like the aftermarket stuff as i was told to get some on it to increase power/performance,yeah it has dv on,like a load of 306 td's near me so getting fed up of hearing em,wanted summat different especially as it works almost as good as viagra 4me when i hear it!!!or summat big to drive over the 306's lol,has adjustable boost from inside car, just gotta turn and turn it ..... wish i had a clue bout this and loads of other stuff on car, bought it as it is now, almost as hard as getting a gold member logo lol, thanx guys, gonna give it a go
Get rid of the MFI firstly, along with that bleed valve in the car UNLESS you have a second bleed valve under the bonnet to limit what the incar one does. If the in car one is working as a stand alone then you have the ability to turn your engine into scrap!!! Be VERY VERY VERY VERY careful how far you are turning it..........

mmmm, take that to heart then and seek out sum1 to have a look at whats actually on it,lad just told me its efi management???that right?know the adjuster 4 the doost does wind out bout 10-12 times, maybe more till its fully out, getting rid of dump valve sounds a good starter and go from there, thanx guys
Get a picture of the engine bay and i can tell you what you are running.
In-car bleed valves can be shocking things, i dont think most people release how deadly they are and how much damage u can do with one. Most of them, from closed, only open up about 1 turn to full adjustment. Its DEFINATELY worth getting that checked out, and even disconnecting it for time being if u feel the need.

Dont mean to open a massive can of worms but...............
Does the compressor wheel really stall? The way i think of chatter is if you spin a fan and blow through it the wrong way u get a whirling noise. If the fans stopped or "stalled" and you blow through it, it makes very little noise....
My point is, i dont think chatter comes from the compressor wheel stalling, more likely air rushing past it in the wrong direction and the blades chopping the air as it goes past!
ok i'll get my coat

What are you trying to do.
Once your set up on photo bucket, and the photos. Once done underneath is 3 labels, copy and paste the IMG one into a post on here and voila........

you know how a turbo works the turbine spins the compressor on the same shaft you shut the throttle the air (boost) hits the shut throttle reverses the air trys to spin the compressor the opposite way then you get whats called the chatter sound which in the end can snap your shaft in half
i dont know never had it happen to me people on here say it dont do fook all to your turbo but its not gonna do damage on low miles as the standard turbo can last upto 100k + remember when the the air (boost) is trying to push the compressor the opposite way the turbine is is still being pushed the right way from the exhaust gas so in the end it comes down to whos the strongest
Theres so much controversy about all this. To be honest though, all the fast RS's ive seen don't have them, and track cars can usually be heard chattering. The ruling as i understand it is unless you are running 10+psi of boost or have a T4 or bigger then its safe.
god knows

ok so if i took off the dumpvalve to get the flutter (which i did the other day and was kinda loud) i heard it can damage the turbines. what is the likelyness if that happening or happening any time soon? i would like to drive around for a while with the flutter but cant afford a new turbo right now lol. cheers guys!!
Also... does any1 know whats involved in reboring my engine to something bigger than 1..6? what else has to be done and costs? cheeRS!!!!!

You dont need a dump valve unless you're running a big turbo.. It's not really relative to how much boost you're running either.. You can quite happily run 2 bar boost on a T34 without a dump valve.. Also, when the pressure wave (chatter) does break a suitable turbo, it usually damages the compressor wheel, not snap the shaft..
theres a good explanation here by stu about turbo chatter/surge
