Default cossie problem

when driving over 50mph i get vibration in the steering wheel. if i put my foot down its not as bad but still there .
the car is a 4x4 saph i am running out of ideas as everything seems ok .

the wheels have been balanced

tracking done

new shocks and springs

i have rebuilt the engine and whilst it was out i changed both the lower suspension arms (the ball joint thingy i mean lol) if thats what its called

i have changed the anti roll bar bushes(to the body and the ones into the ball joint arm)

there does not seem to be any play in the drive shafts when i push and pull them

and the rack linkage bar seems to be ok when i pull and push on that also

the car has just been mot'd and they said the wheel bearings are fine

the previous owner had it at P.E and they could not help
when the car is on the deck i can turn the front prop 10 degrees or so by hand is this normal???

Pretty sure that small movement in the prop is ok

Have you put new discs on,checked calipers aren't seized???
Check the rear of discs where they sit on the hubs, should be clean so discs sit perfectly flat

Also check the insides of alloys where they sit on hubs are clean, and wheels slide on and off hubs easily, bit of emery cloth and a smear of grease will do the trick

Anything that is connected to suspension/steering will need checking

Have you tried swapping the wheels front to back, could be a dodgy tyre

I had the same on my cortina changed complete front end, arms, bushes, subframe, stub axels, bearings, tyres, wheel nuts, shocks only to find out that my wheels were the wrong offset and increased my track by 10mm overall these wheels were et 35 and i changed to et 40 problem gone!!!!!

may be worth trying a mates front wheels, et 35 is standard cos offset.

hope this helps

my wobble was at 40 to 50 mph
