prob with my 4x4 sapphire cossie
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
cossie has developed a problem, when driving on a small amount of throttle its fine,
but, when i give it some boot, it starts to run weird, boost goes all over the place,
and get this....... my rev counter goes mental, i'll be doing 3500-4000rpm
and the rev counter goes of the clock, the actual engine revs stay the same.
thought it might be ignition coil, so i tried a new one, no change.
any ideas guys....... pretty please

you have to check the connectors at the back above the engine. give them a good clean and connect them real tight. i had this to....it turned out that the inside of the connectors are a little wide (because of the age).
good luck
good luck

alright jon its bob that sold you the q plate turbo! hows it going! does your rev counter shoot off the clock then go down to 0????? i had this prob with my car! was told it was the distibutor phase sensor(the wires break down with age) or tdc sensor! so changed both! they cost about Ł20 each! sorted the problem! Also theres a sensor on the inner wing beside the battery remove this and clean the terminals! hope this helps!

the distibutor phase sensor is actually in the distributor!!!! the wires on this are very hard to see! your problem sounds like the problem i had which turned to be the this phase sensor!
