Default please help me xr2i misfire

hi , i have just bought an xr2i 16v and its started to misfire. it only misfires up to about 2500 revs and after that it is ok. could this be fuel as it only seemed to happen once i filled up with tesco petrol. any help with this would be appreciated. thanks

Fuel shouldn't make any difference?

Be worth checking the basics like plugs leads etc. Off the top of my head it sounds like maybe a gasket on the inlet manifold has gone, air leak related problems usually become less evident higher up the rev range.
