Ecos splitter protection
I have a replica Ecos bumper on the Onion and I am having it patched up following a knock. Id rather not have to pay up for it again so i was thinking there must be away of protecting it abit and i see Ecos's with an extra splitter than seems to give some protection.
Ideally im looking for something to sit under the bumper and protect the front edge from getting scraped and scratched up when I go over a bump. so it would probably stick out afew CM in front of it to give it that bit of protection. Does anyone know where such an item can be obtained or have an clever idea how this might be achieved?

I think what I am after is the lower splitter as seen in this picture.

Does anyone know if it will fit okay on to my bumper? How strong are they, will it need replacing every five mins?
cheers

the only trouble with the lower splitter as anyone with one will concur,, as it sits lower and is rigid, it actually rips the upper part if you do catch it ona a speed hump or curb edge as the lower part pulls throught eh plastic of the upper part, i even fitted large washers to the back of mine to try to prevent this happeneing AGAIN, but alas, petrol station forecore a lil bit too fast and rip, a tear in the edge
Thanks for replying on this one
Mine is not an official ecos bumper and is a fibreglass rep so really the splitter is there to act as a barrier to prevent damage to the paint and hopefuly further cracks. However I do see your point that catching the lower splitter is likely to only cause damaged to the rest of the splitter if you caught it as you describe. I think it might be suit able in preventing the damaged to the paint but at the same time i dont want to catch it and then snap the splitter again.
Maybe a rubber replica or something with a bit of flex would be a better bet. My dad works with plastics so he might be able to suggest a suitable material. maybe theres a market for such a product
