what could be the cause?
pulling my hair out lol
its got a brand new Genuine cosworth oil pump
the oil pick up pipe was clean when it went in.....
just hope it hasnt damaged the engine at all..

could just be worn bearings and/or crank, or maybe the oilpump drive is slipping, also have you tested the oil pressure switch as these can break as well

yuup!!!
they dont use the O ring for the spray bar anymore
(no cut out for it in the oil pump anymore on 4x4)
but the paper gasket IS there and the bolts are done up as they
should be!! annoying!
Edit: somoene else just said they have had/heard about having a
faulty oil pump from new!? quite concerning
i bought from cosworth direct as thought that would be the best thing to do!!

crank is on standard grind. and was measured and polished!
if the bearings were wrong it would rattle i think
and the engine is Very smooth and Very quiet! which is a good sign.
oil pick up pipe was de-greased and cleaned thru
I can only hope that pump is ok,, and that a load of sealer has
broken away ( like spadges the other day)
and i DID use the proper ford sealant for it! AND it was left about a
week to go off before the car was used at all!
but even so,, it could be something like that i guess.

thanks mate.
but i dont know if thats the same with a 4x4 pump?
as the gasket has got to go round both oil pick up pipe
and spray bar feed holes
it could well be something as simple as that.... im half hoping it is!

thanks mate!
still something to look at though, check that the gasket definitly isnt blocking anything !
Am i right in thinking that, Low oil pressure would be Casued by
the Pump not being able to Draw enough oil up?
as opposed to a block in the system somewhere else?
roll on next weekend when i can take the subframe sump and diff off to have a look

took the subframe and sump off today...........
oil pick up pipe is clear,,, and so that leads me to suspect the oil pump
i wil send it back to cosworth to see if they can check it out....
bad news being,,, the fukkin engine is a write off..
bearings and crank are socred. so if it DOES turn out to be a faulty oil
pump, where to go from there?

im past that stage mate! as in when the oil in the car is at operating temp,, there is no oil pressure
to start with i filled the pump with oil, and then spun the pump up with a drill before i put the cam belt on to get pressure, and had a good flow coming out of the turbo feed to, so i know there was oil at the top end eve... so there was no issue there

hi
yes , i use plastigauge.
all clearence mesurement are good
i remove oil plug gallery to clean the engine block, i changed them when i rebuild and, i re-change, i chek them to be sure.
i think they are watertight because oil didn't pass.
but when the oil is hot, maybe she pass trough !
fuc*** oil...
