Default 1.8 2.0 zetec differences

ive read on this site thate the 18 and 20 are the same but the block is bored larger on the 20

is this right cos im gunna build a 2.1 zvh and get an 18 at very handy money i also have some 16v vauxhall pistons lined up

Take the 1.8 anyway mate you need bits from it to fit to the 2.0. Of course the 2.0 has a bigger bore.

nope, 1.8 and 2.0 blocks are different, you won't get a 1.8 block (81mm bore) bored out to 2.0 (85mm bore) - in fact the GM pistons need more like 86mm.
Curiously if you look at the two blocks, one has "18" cast in the side, the other has "20"
As said though, if the 1.8 is from an escort, then you still need parts - Escort sump and pickup, water pump and pulley, possibly oil pump, alternator bracket..

The 2.0 has siamesed bores as opposed to the 1.8. I think the 2.0 also has oil injection for the pistons.

yes, i believe this to be correct. The bore separation on 2.0 is to small to not be siamesed.
