first time i have to say i´m writeing from spain, so excuse me for the gramatical foults

i´ve a sapphire 4x4, the map sensor have broke. i want to know if i could put on my sapphire the map sensor from a escort t34. bouth are from original cars

If your car is standard/stage 1 it will be using a 2 bar map sensor.

Im sure the escos uses a 2.5 bar map sensor ?

If it is stage 3 you will need a replacement 3 bar map sensor

think about it.

a 2 bar MAP sensor gives an output of 5V at 2 bar (1 bar of boost + 1 bar atmosphere).

a 2.5 bar MAP sensor gives an output of 5V at 2.5 bar (1.5 bar of boost + 1 bar atmosphere).

so if you fit the 2.5 bar one, and have 1 bar of boost, the 2.5 bar sensor will only output around 4V, which your ecu will think is only 1.8 bar so not give you enough fuel for that amount of air.

 

i don´t know why, but in the shop told me if i put on my car any other map which isn´t the original, y could broke the engine. not bigger map, or other cars map. but i don´t understand why.

here, original map cost 200 euros, arround 140 pounds, i have been lookin on ebay, but there are only 3 bar maps. i haven´t see originals.
