ESCORT MK4 ABS ...ADVICE
i have a 1988 escort XR3i under a full restoration at the moment and have decided when i rebuild it to leave the ABS OFF the car. the only diffrernce i know off and have already sorted is that ill need to install the NON ABS rear load reducers into the new rear brake lines. what other things could casue me problems. i have noticed that there are ABS and non ABS options on handbrake cables and rear shoes. will this make any difference to me

I didn't know the rear load valves were different, but most people remove them aswell to be honest, supposed to do a lot for the pedal feel. I wouldn't of thought the handbrake cables should be different but you never know. You will need to do a bit of pipe work under the bonnet too, or change the master cylinder and get pipes off a non ABS car.

i got all the piping taken care off. when i meant the rear load reducers i meant the ones that are bolted to the bulkhead on non ABS cars, that in theory do the same job but dont take the cars ride hieght into consideration like the ABS ones do. The whole braking system including pipes is going to be brand new. thanks for the reply
