I want to uprate the brakes on my series 2 but dont know what to get.I notice a lot of people talk on here about using cossie brakes. Is this because they bolt straight on?Any advice about cheapest/easiest would be appreciated.Cheers peeps
First things have u tried uprated discs and pads eg black diamond turbo groove etc?? next is the cossie conversion which are 288mm discs mad 4 it do a conversion using your standard calipers for about £175.. or u could go the whole way and fit cossy calipersm 2 but they are expensive. Next is in my opionion the best conversion using focus st170 discs and calipers they are 300mm discs but u need a minaman of 16inch wheels 4 them 2 fit. this coversion costs about 300-350 depending
hope this helps....

also i might add i have just done all this last week and gone for the cossie set up , but when you do the conversion you have to use a decent fluid as many people over look this and whatever brakes you put on they will be crap.
I have just put in catrol SRF brake fluid and also put braided brake lines in as well , do away with the ABS as well and you should get a good pedal feel as well!!

Noted everything you said.Only thing is the abs.I actually rate it coz twice now its saved me from hitting someone.Mine really does work.Like to keep it on the car m8.
thats fine if you want to keep it just make sure you beeld the system properly , you will see the 2 pots at the back of the engine with brake lines going through them from the master cylinder these are to do with the ABS , im not 100% if you have to empty these out manually or they just bleed with the system
