Default koni adjustable removal

ok, came to remove the koni top adjustable struts on my escort rst 2day, and i noticed unlike a normal strut, there clearly isnt a hole in the top to put an allen key to stop the centre of the strut turnin when u try and undo the top bolt

so, how the hell do i stop the centre turnin with the nut??? am i missing something??? is it sum mad left handed thread or sumthin obvious?? lol

ps, where can i get a replacement koni adjuster key, mine chewed itself up (yes i stupidly tried holding the centre with that, d'oh)

i may be wrong on this and i probably am but when i removed my ledas from my frst mine were the same and to stop the strat from spinning you have to undo it with the car on the floor so that there is weight on it? if that makes sense.

my konis have hex shaped top where the damping ajuster is, i guess you put a spanner on it to hold it while you undo the main nut?

as above but be careful as the hex part is easily chewed up ,make sure you get a really good fitting spanner i once had to drill the nuts off a pair as they had been tightened on with an airgun

apparently im goin to be needin a 7mm spanner to hold the centre, i didnt even notice anywhere to put a spanner, 7mm is tiny!!! hope i can get some leverage on it, as these were put on with an air gun. if not im gna have to dig the air gun and compressor out and giv that a blast. car in the air on axle stands now so id rather not have to drop it to put weight on the strut

fingers crossed a 7mm spanner does the trick, if not, expect a wanted add for 2 front koni struts lol
