hi, ive got a mk4 escort 1300 and want to make it go a little quicker if possible. i dont have much to spend and was wondering if any oe knew any tips on how i could make it run a bit better and maby go slightly faster.

Any ideas would be great

 

Replace the engine

If money really is tight, replace the carb for a bigger ones but make sure the jets/fuelling are set-up correctly.
Get a decent air filter bolted on and if you can find some, grab some cams.
Oh and you can always bolt on a performance exhaust, but tbh id save the money you have and replace the 1.3 when you can
