just brought an escort and i have to unlock it from the passenger door but am able to lock from the drivers door. i think this is a common fault but i was wondering if any1 could help me and tell me how to fix it any help would be much appreaciated

 

YOUR drivers door lock isn't the right one for the key! ALL ford keys WILL lock any other lock!


so I'd say your locks been changed at some point!

ps if you take the lock out and take it to Fords/locksmith they can make you up a key to match via the numbers inside(just mean you'll have to have 2 separate keys!

Alvyn: You say a LOCKSMITH can make a key for any lock with the numbers??? Or is it only Ford that can do this

ANY good locksmith can do it m8! some maybe able to do it on site but they usually will have to send it away may take up to 10 days though

 

That could be useful to know especially as its getting harder to get lock sets for the older cars
