Right, decided that Id put the s2 steering wheel that Ive had kicking around onto my 90 Escort Bonus, as well as trying to remedy the irritating squeak thats been coming from the steering column.
Get the Haynes out, follow instructions. Get the old wheel off. Decided to take the plastic steering column shrouds off, 5 screws. Have a look round, clear up some dust, put everything back together. Put key in ignition to take car for a drive, and for some reason it wont turn, even to position 1. So, how have I managed to fuck the ignition barrel by removing one bolt and 5 screws?
Ive had it apart again, and cant see any wires displaced or similar. Ive got some stuff to spray in the lock which got my door lock working again, but wasnt sure if this was a good idea on the ignition lock. Ive also tried the spare key, no different.
