Unhappy Problem with cossie agen.

hello people can anyone tell me why my car is over fuelling as it f??king smells so rich and black smoke coming out of the exhaust.and you cansmell fumes in the breather system.and the water looks yellow ruste colour with like a oil film could it be the fuel pressure regulator seized open as the car has not been run for 3 years as i have rebulid the car.

it could be the map but as you said the car has been rebulit have you got it all piped right and is the setup the same as befor the came of the road

take it out for a long steady run and see if it clears up dont boot it cause ur just adding more fuel ! if this does not work get it looked at and maybe try a service !!

try changing your Coolant Temp Sensor (blue sensor located at rear of head inlet side by dipstick)
could be faulty and causing your issues !!
worth a go for the price of a new sensor

i would also try a water temp sensor. The same thing happened to my cossie. The sensors are only 20 quid from MSD.

I would first check/replace the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) these go out of range after a while and is the main factor used for fueling for the base level of fuel injected right from zero degrees to boiling, if this is giving a duff reading I.E colder than it is the ECU will fuel accordingly.

The CTS reads works on a 0-5V scale, I only know the resistance VS temp scale but it should be nearer 5V at cold with the voltage dropping with the engine warming up.
