Default Good reliable power for 6k

So just sold my rs1800 and rs2000. Had my heart set on buying a mk1 focus rs but now I have the cash I’m starting to look at other cars. Have more then 6k but any more then that I’d just get a focus

Have a st220 that I’m running round in that currently ticks all boxes for me. I’m looking for decent power 320-350 really but want reliablity and not costs a fortune to fix/maintain

Found myself looking at Audi s4s b6.
Followed one the other day and fell in love!
Also looking at decent spec focus st’s

What other cars would people suggest?

Audi's are great driver cars just be aware if they go wrong and they do it costs a small fortune.

id also look at merc c32 (3.2 supercharged v6 with 354bhp) or c55's (5.4 n/a v8 with 367bhp) which are similar to the audi rs range.

I'd leave the b6 audi, when the engine's go which they will its big bucks to fix. Thats why so many get broken. No back seat if you have family/passengers, interiors wear easily, electrics a pita.

So many other choices out there. If you have to have a b6 s4 then when the engine pops get a s4 v6 tt engine and swap in

totally agree on the audi, silly money when it comes to parts makes RSs look cheap, my st is 340 hp and for 6k you would get a good example too

Yeah the more I look into Audi’s the more I hear horror stories!

Sts are good value for money I think. 6k gets a real decent spec one.

May ya just hold out and get a mk1 as they seem decent all rounders and are only going to go up I think

Don’t get too hung up on a mk1 rs there okay but not worth the money I’d sooner have an st, much more usable and more parts available.

My mate reckons his mk1 rs was his only car regret

Mk2 focus ST all day long. Bms Mercs and Audis are ok cars till they go wrong.

Bollock to this German reliability shite. It was properly the Germans who built the mk3 focus RS engine lol.

I've owned both mk1 Focus RS and mk2 Focus ST and for me personally I liked the RS the most. The only regret I had with my RS was that I sold it!

The main problems imo with the mk1's are that they are old cars now so getting worn out, rust problems, some hard to get parts etc and also some of the prices are crazy now! I'd still love another though but I doubt I'll get one. I don't even drive a Ford anymore, I've gone VAG instead!!

ford powered rwd v8, the MG ZT v8, mustang v8 power and rwd, might get one around the 6k, and as its a modular v8, how much power do you want, just bolt in a more powerful engine when you get bored with the power you have,

Depends on the use I think. I love the MK1 RS, but I wouldn't have one as a daily.

For me, it would be between a MK2 Focus ST and a MK5 Golf GTI. The Focus has a more interesting engine, but I think the interior of the Golf has aged a bit better. Both have plenty of tuning potential.
