Question What silver paint??

What paint have you guys used for spraying the alloy bits? Looking to paint the

Inlet & throttle body - Thermostat housing - Engine mount arms etc, I’m looking for something as close as a natural aluminium colour as possible.

I used Halfords high temp paint for the alternator because of it’s close proximity to the turbo but as you know the high temp stuff isn’t that good a finish even when heat cured.

How does it stand up to the heat Mat?
I’m not even sure what the surface temp of parts like the thermostat housing etc get to, have used rust-oleum hard hat in the past but it’s heat range is only up to 100°

That looks nice mate
I just looked it up on YouTube and they recommend an etch primer and there 2k Matt lacquer did you go down this route? If not how does it hold up in the long term as it will end up quite expensive doing it that way.

Cheers pal thanks for your advice, I just have one more question and then I will stop pestering you, Is the etch primer from Halfords heat resistant? I have used Upol #8 in the past which is great stuff but never used it on hot areas.

I’m not sure if I’m honest! I just want to Err on the side of caution as I don’t know what surface temp of things like the inlet and other alloy parts get to that are in contact with the engine block & head,
I guesstimate around 130° but probably way off.

I've used it on ..alternators , thermostat housings ..gearboxes and inlets and never had any with heat damage if that helps mate .
