Default Cosworth hydraulic clutch question

Has anyone used a cosworth hydraulic clutch conversion kit from brands hatch performance ? It looks identical to the turbosport one. However the turbosport listing now states you no longer need to use shims. Can anyone shed some light on if these are the same or not ? Thanks

If their listing says you no longer need the shims then I would assume it is different in some way seeing as they have gone to the bother of adding that to their advert.

Obviously..... I wondered if anybody knew the difference. As they look identical. One is more expensive than the other. And both use mondeo v6 slaves I believe. More to the point has anyone used a brands hatch one ? Are they any good or the same.

the BMW E30 slave is used on the out side the gear box setup . I think the lads are talking about a center push setup

Unless buying tilton the centre push stuff people use are really bad like the Mondeo one they break very quickly so I have fitted plenty of e30 bmw yo many and not had many failures and if there is then there easier to change

The op is talking about centre push conversions where as I believe the BMW e30 is external slave which I prefer as you can change quickly without removing the gearbox.

i think it's the look of the droor on all of them iv had 1 e30 slave go on me on my 3DR . And My mate rex has had 2 go on him . And iv been running a mondeo centre push on my skyline gearbox for over two years now and it's still going strong and it was only a cheap one off ebay .

Maybe it has something to do with the clutch you are engaging/disengaging. If your trying to move an uprated clutch with a cylinder that’s not rated to that pressure it’s going to fail.

I’m fitting a tilton Center push to mine there reliable and not that expensive to be fair. I thought about the side push but it’s a cheap fix made for a normal pressure plate. Plus it sits fooking close to the gearbox tunnel

I used the tilton when I did the skyline conversion, I think I still have the mounting plate if you need it.

Exactly a decent clutch will foul a mondeo center push and like I said the e30 one seemed more reliable and deffo easier to change

I'm just gonna go for the Reyland one as the price includes tig welding a bracket to your bell housing. Plus with all the other stuff I need to buy I can't be arsed peicing together a kit lol

The reyland one on the side push comes with a steel weld on lug that you MIG to the steel clutch fork, no need for bellhousing mods on the side push...apart from drilling holes in it. Not sure about the centre push as Coley made me an adapter for the Ford centre push before I went over to the Tilton.

You do, but I found it fairly simple to get the bell housing up to them and returned ready with the lug welded on.

I’m interested in this mod also.
Anyone got any pics of the master cylinder installed in the engine bay?
Or is there a way to fit the cylinder inside so you don’t see anything inside the engine bay?

I want to do it but I’d rather spend a bit more time trying to get everything in behind the dashboard so there’s nothing visible in the engine bay except a green brake pipe running to a flexi then onto the bellhousing.
Not really at this stage yet but something I need to look into soon.

I have the reyland conversion on mine, although I changed the master cylinder from a .6 to a .75 as this gave me a better travel. The slave is a E30 bmw one 20 odd quid.
It is one of the best conversions I have done, the master cylinder is hidden behind the heat-sheild. The only visible item is the reservoir which I am sure can be hidden somehow.

Same as mine. I think the reservoir blends in well in the engine bay and looks like its always been there and also you need to be able to easily check the fluid level.

Anyone know if the Reyland centre push kit is any good ? I'm guessing it's not the cheap slave as they recommend it for their heavy duty clutches.

I bought a centerpush kit from brand hatch for my t5, but the adapter came with wrongdrilled holes for the slave. The slave is a mondeo type.
They assured it woudnt fail, but im not sure...
What mastercylinder size is recomended?
Im using a ap 6 paddle kit.

The centre push needs to be very exact or it won’t work well

Do you have any stop on your pedal or how have you done to adjust the length on the slave?
