I have a 2.8i Capri project, I was going to buy coilovers and lowering blocks, and have bought these wheels-




On the advert- the seller said he was going to roll his arches to make them fit. What does this actually mean and what do I have to do??

clearly whatever he did they didnt fit otherwise why sell them ?

Until you add tyres and bolt them to your car...nobody can tell you what you need to do to make them fit.

what size/width are they?, do you know the offset

Think you will struggle with the rear wheels at 8.5 inch wide, 8 inch is usually Max on a standard arch.

The key to fitting big wheels on a Capri is the offset you need them as close to 0 as possible.

You will need stretched tyres sometime like 205/45/15 on the front

Thanks for the info. I havnt had the shell painted yet- would rolling the arches be worth doing? I see there are rollers on eBay, never seen it done but looks simple?

Failing that, I guess I could have the wheel centres machined down so the offset is lower?

Just mod the arches before you paint the car job done...

If you use these wheels on the rear the offset needs to be around 12 with a 225/45/15 tyre.

if you roll the arch, make sure you rust protect the lip of arch

you need to measure up the wheels and get the offsets to ensure they will all fit up first.The guy who sold could be wrong about the offsets, so I would check before going any further

So i inneed to buy tyres to test things out before paint. Il order a pair of 225 45 15s for the rear. What about the front? 215 55 15?

i had the arches flared on my mk1 V6 Capri to make sure the tyres would clear. Back then the ultra low profile tyres were not available.

Try just the wheels with no tyres if needs be...

get 205/45/15 for the front

The sizes there suggest the fronts are 7.5 wide but I think the offset is -5 which pushes the wheel out more, the rears look to be 8 inch wide and offset -10. Would be worth rolling arches before paint, I would try 195/50s on the front to see if they fit and if not they are best tyres for the brookland alloys.
