So was 2016 a year of fast Ford's breaking power, qrt mile,0-60mph times etc.Cant say Ive seen or heard of any that stand out.

 

I don't think anything happened, the top speed record will go up once Rods is ready, but other than that it seems the scene is a little dead.

 

The only record breaking for fords going on was the price they are now being sold for

Well, thinking about it again, Charlie Shaw got down to a 9.3 in the 1/4 mile at TOTB, a focus RS mk2 has crossed 800bhp so I think that's the most powerful, and there's a red fiesta mk2 dragster that's ran 10s and is looking to do 9s with a flat shift system, so a bit of action did happen.

Yep, Clarke's Mk2 Fiesta set a new FWD Ford record with 10.3@142mph. It will do a 9-second run easy when it's back out next year

 

Wennys mk3 is still doing 9s quarter mile times.

 

Good to see, think if the mk2 focus RS boys wanted they could do some great top speed runs, they're a heavy car mind so they may struggle in the 1/4 mile but I think there's a lot of potential in them.

KOENIGSEGG AB One:1 got the fastest top speed at bruntingthorpe, Koeningsegg's run Ford engines, so technically ford is the fastest car in the UK

 

Think the overall record for fastest car in a mile is still a ford GT, 283mph, heard rumours of 292 but not seen any evidence.

 

The fwd boys have really upped the pace this year, quite a few running 11's and obviously Clarke running 10's. Nothing has happened with cosworths, other than getting polished!

 

I'd imagine these two are the most competitive fords in the uk but unfortunately unlike years ago there's not a lot of competition now

 

I was out with Andrew in Tom`s Escort at gatebil this year, love it. Also out With Callum Bird`s 700bhp focus, Nice Power in thoose cars

 

Topspeed wise the RS boys are not doing anything these days lets hope it will change in 2017 but I doubt it. However a Ford GT modded by Roosh ran 206.0 in 1.5 miles at Brunters. It gets close or shall we say equals the 206.08mph that a Cossie ran back in 2005. We may not be doing anything now but that record took a long time to equal & is still the fastest time im told for a Ford in the UK.

What happened to the green mk3 Fiesta that got into 11s a few years back at Santa Pod, think he was on here user name something like Luca?

 

Was it not this year he crashed it into the wall when his rear drive shaft snapped??

Everyone is taking it a little more seriously lately! Quite a few cars have gone very quickly this year after actually swapping to proper drag radials at long last!

Luke held the record for some time! I hope he plans on some kind of come back at some point.
