Hi IAN, yes Mark is sending me a set of fronts to try that will work and he offered to mod my ones, he has my brakes up there to make an adapter to fit to these hubs. They were all going to be posted last week but Mark was laid up with a bad back, I am hoping to receive the bits next week.

I have been using the time to have a bit of a clear out and tidy up a few things on the car like boost hoses and clamps etc.

Can't wait to get it all back together with the 6 degree beam.

I did think of stripping the beam out ready but I have noticed that the shell is so light on the back that it is beginning to teeter on the ramps so I don't want to take any more weight off the back without moving the car back to re balance....suppose I could ratchet strap it.

Yeah, I don't want to get them dirty>...Mark (M K Motorsport) is moaning as I am fitting standard callipers to them but my car only weighs about 1000kg so doesn't need over the top brakes

That's true but calipers add to the shinyness lol. Why has your stub flange shafts been TIG welded at the ends?

Would love some APs but don't fit under 16s, I have some 4 pot brembos to try but they will be for looks really as the brakes are awesome as they are

He has said I can send him a complete leg to see if he can fit some. I might do in time but the brakes work well and APs are 50% of the cost of an ally block. I would love to build the engine first, that block with my new carbon tailgate is another 40kg / 45kg lighter that is a big saving.

It is 469 bhp now, if I do the ally block I want 2.2 or 2.4l, I think that would be a torque monster and maybe 550 / 580 bhp. It doesn't really need more power so we will see. It is torque that I would prefer to add although it is pretty much 500lbft now.

Yes, I think the extra cc along with the extra exhaust gasses should work very well. I would need the next sized turbo up but that fits in the same space...any bigger would be a probLen to fit in the 205 bonnet space.

I am happy to report that my WRC front end has turned up from MK motorsport, I can get bolting it all on this weekend.

I managed to slip with a sharp knife yesterday and had 4 stitches in my left hand index finger so it should make bolting it all up pretty interesting!

Don't bother you will stress/tear the stitches. To only go back to have them redone.

I know, it won't be long. I am still waiting on the 6 degree beam so it will need the geometry setting up again once that is done.

Thanks Ian, I changed the dressing today and it all looks very clean and neat, I think that it was such a sharp knife that it will knit back together nicely.

The car is back together and on the road again. I have set the ride height quite high at the moment and will drop that tomorrow. I have set the geometry totally by eye to get it running and just made sure that everything is the same measurement each side. The tracking is also out. I ran it round the block to check for issues and it drives really nicely even with the geometry out.

I am glad to say that the vibration is now cured so the new engine mount and raising the engine 10mm did the trick.
The billet hubs and wrc set up went together really easily, I am just waiting on MK to deliver the front anti roll bar mounts and 6 degree rear beam. I am hoping I can get a rear ARB in there too, then I can soften the spring rates.

I had two new tyres on the back with zero miles of them, I gave it some beans in second gear and the car went very sideways (I expect the geometry did not help) but it is all very controllable despite being 24 CM shorter wheel base than a sapphire.

Very pleased with the new front end, no noises either. I am looking forward to putting a load of miles on it now and fine tuning it.

I had forgotten just how scary quick it was!

I am going to get a mate of Stuart Days to come over and do a full geometry set up once the new bean is in but for now I will take it to my mate with a hunter laser system and get the front all dialled in, it has too much camber at the moment but this is so easy to adjust on the MK front end.

Sounds good Toby. Is the front worth the money? I'm toying with the idea of the full WRC kit on my focus.

It is brilliant, very easy to adjust, very positive front end and looks the nuts to go with it, highly recommend it/

No, not Stuart, just the same bloke he uses. I might take mine to Mark then, just liked the fact this guy was mobile with cornerweights etc.

If I can get it good enough then I can drive it to Mark, at the moment it could scrub out the tyres potentially.

most of the problems are because people dont put floor /mounts in right place to start with which knackers all the geometry up
