Well, not new exactly but its aproduct i had never previously considered retailing.
As most of you will know, the YB Fan circuit is not really suitable for the amount of current the fans draw when on for long periods of time and this leads to the fan circuit overheating the fuse connector and relay terminals, resulting in a no fan situation.
Secondly, on many cars, when the fans DO actually work, they often come on too soon, and then wont fooking go off.
Thats because the original system was a little close to the bone on the standard system and whilst on the standard rad its not too much of a problem, put an aftermarket radiator on and your buggered, the fans will stay on even on teh motorway at 70mph due to teh heatsink effect from the alloy end tanks.

We have a solution, but i only ever fitted it to cars we sold rads too, and only realised yesterday after reading it on here than many poeople could benefit, so here it is.
Uprated Radiator fan switch for All Sierras.
Switches on your fans at around 90DegC and Off again at 87Deg C
Works best and closest to those temperatures in an Alloy rad, but its a good upgrade for normal rads too In My Experience, workin around 93/90.
Get those power sapping fans to work properly this summer for only £15.

Get the coolant temp down to sensible levels (late 80s early 90s), and get the bloody fans off. Its drawing MASSIVE current from your ECU and Fuel pump and thus can probably be attributed to more than a few meltdowns over the years on cars where they stay on.

Thanks Colin. Switch is now processed and on its way, paypal me £18 to sales@remapping.co.uk when you get 10 mins. No rush mate, when your ready, switch will leave anyway.
think ill order one of these next week actually,
my fans are always on when i come to a stop and even when i turn the engine off they are always on still lol, they do seem to not turn off as you have mentioned, i have changed the fan loom, and also runnign the pro alloy fan kit
my temp on the gauge is about half way 3/4 when driving though

driving short distances will always be bad for fuel too as on a cold start map it adds more fuel

Remember, your coolant is fine in the 90s temporarily. People worry too much about coolant temps.
No, the 80 is far too late. Why would you want the fans to cool it that much? It should run a little hotter than that anyway and if it does, as it should, then the fans wont go off when your on the move. Bad situation.

it runs at 83 when the fans go off. This switch you sell replaces the standard item that screws into the bottom of the rad yes? Suppose its too late to get one to me tomorrow? GOing to Le Mans on thrusday where the weather is usually hot. Would be a good test

best thing to also do is bin your old fans and fit the escort cossie ones, much quieter much slimmer and much newer and alot less current draw than these shonky old antique sapph ones and much lighter
So in summary Stu, the upgraded switch turns the fans on at 90 and off again at 87 WHEREAS the std switch turns the fans on at about 90 and off at about 80/81?
So in effect, in traffic, the upgraded switch will be doing more cycles but for shorter periods of time for each cycle? The std switch will do less cycles but each cycle will be far longer meaning the whole circuit becomes hotter?
And the Escort Cosworth fans are better as well if you can combine them with that upgraded switch.......
And if you can build it all onto a braided fan loom all the better? ( Where can you get the braided fan looms from? How much are they and how easy to fit? )

But mine is already uprated along with a braided Fan Loom capable of all the power my shonker can draw from it!
