Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally 2010
The event will run this year on Saturday the 25th September - so get it in your diary now.
Coltness Car Club is the organising club of the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally. The rally is the final round of the Hankook Scottish Rally Championship.
As well as putting his name to the rally Colin for many years ran as opening car on the event. For many years his was the only time Colin's fans got to see him drive on home soil.
With Colin's death just a couple of weeks prior to the 2007 event the McRae Family asked the club to continue the rally and thousands of fans lined the stages to pay their respect for Colin.
In 2008 the organising team rose to the challenge to stage a never to be repeated all star line up for the event. The Drivers and fans came from all over the world for the spectacle.
It is now up to the club to ensure that the event runs as a lasting tribute to Colin. What better tribute could be made than to hear the echoes of rally cars and cheers of fans in the forests of Perthshire.
The rally ceremonial start has moved! The rally will now kick off from the town of Aberfeldy with the first car due off the ramp at 8.31am. The people of Aberfeldy have welcomed this and they are working with the team to pull out all the stops and make it something to come and see.
Good news for those venturing to the forests - Jimmy will once again take to the wheel as the opening car for the event. He will be driving the Subaru Legacy that Colin used to with the 1992 RACMSA British Rally Championship.
