Default transit key fob replacement

this post will probably piss a lot of people of but just looking for some help.

i purchased a second hand transit 2007 but it only came with the spare key(no central locking buttons)

how do i go about getting a new key fob with the buttons and programmed to my van. I went to ford today and they quoted me 180. surely there has to be a cheaper option

would realy appreciate the help thanks

You can get new keys cut cheap enough and you can prgramme them to the central locking yourself but getting the chip coded to the immobiliser is the expensive bit and so far as I know there is no cheap option for that.

You could get new keys cut and programmed, then tape your coded key to the steering column inside the shroud so the system sees the coded chip and let the van start with an uncoded key.
