Fucking love it! Had a really good look around it a few times at Ford Fair and was one of my favourite cars there. Great to see it is still going from strength to strength

Hello Luke

made some real good progress on the vx splitter, here a re a few pics after we trimmed it up, please remember that it has yet to be treated to a top coat, this is how it looks straight from the mould.

This consists of 2 layers, 2nd rotated 90 deg's and we used 2" carbon ribbon to reinforce the bottom ledge to support the undertray. Only the first layer was bagged, the 2nd was wet layed so the weight is much greater than the final one will be, this one weighs in at 380grams. Im aiming for a shade over 300grams once we use the vacum for all layers.

Anyway at last there is a little progress from our side for you.

Speak soon Master.

The gears are made from the same grade metal as the gears in Elites race and rally gearboxes. They are also subjected to the same heat treatment process.

They handle over 500ftlbs currently.

With this being a racing part and a prototype, if you do have any problems Elite will work to resolve them and develop the kit further if it needs it.

It’s in their interests to provide something upfront that will work from the start.

I hope so

I know they have come along way in recent years, they did suffer from heat treating issue a few years ago

Stuart (pollyX) has a sequential in his westfield and hasn't had any problems but that was a recent box. (year or two old)

2 friends of mine in the westfield club have used the small RWD sequential boxes and broke them 3 or 4 times now (about 3 or 4 years ago)

My friend Andy Nichols had elite make up a gear kit for his PJ1 box and has broke it a few times now

Think its getting repared at the moment (Dog Gears)

My friend Grant with an Audi Quattro had them do an input shaft which has held up on the 2nd attempt after the first one didn't work, thats got 750whp

I guess its a suck it and see if its a new gearset, they make good quality stuff

Its got to better than the standard setup for sure and the Getrag box is supposed to be a much better design to start with.

Im sure it will be good...

However current issue is my clutch is fucked on inspecting it... So the ole girl is pushing more power in there than first thought.. as when on dyno Jim said he thought clutch was on its way. However driving with lack of grip you dont notice.

Oh well, just chatting to USA now to find an alternative.

What sort of money did you pay for the gear kit Luca?

I see on the Elite website there Ł2k

Is that plus Vat?

http://www.eliteracingtransmissions....t.php?g=21&c=7

I know Quaife do a kit for the ST170 too

Nearer twice that price as it was a custom ratio box.
Yes VAT on top of there web prices.

The Quaife one was fairly close to the ratios I wanted but again the fast/road as they call it costs alot more than the listed rally kit they sell.

Plus the fact Quaife are useless to deal with, I went with Elite as they are always there to answer any questions and happy to help.

Yes I've heard dealing direct with Quaife is not very good, esp with responding back, i've never had a problem myself but I use one of there dealers so service is good

I'd love to buy this box if funds would allow it

Looking to sell the westy at some point and plough some money putting my zetec in an exige with this box

That looks good, I priced up a 6 speed Sadev sequential box.

It didnt take long for me to decide with a 16k price tag for the job to be completed and that it would only handle 300 lb/ft.

WOW thats expensive

Think the Tractive are circa Ł10k and rated conservatively at 600NM / 450 ft/lb

Im kind of hindered by the alloy flywheel I have.

clutchmasters however make 9 options of clutch. The one I had seems to be a little bit of a pussy!
