Default Advice on underbody work?

Anyone have any pointers/tips on doing under body work? I am planning to start off with something easy - the front arches (under the liners) I know some of the paint has come off and i, plan to rub them down, primer, paint and waxoil them. Obviously it doesn't need to be that neat as they are never seen. I was just going to use wire brush attachments on a drill to remove suface rust, them primer, paint and so on. Is there a certain type of primer (anti rust stuff?) to use?

Any tips wold be great!

Get yourself a good rust treatment to paint on any bits after you deal with them ,(if there is a lot best to get it cut out and new metal put in) ,i use one made by a company called Granville (blue liquid) then use an etch primer for any bare metal ,then primer over this ,on mine i then went over this with a flexible under body spray to help protect against stone chips ,then paint ,have a look on my resto thread ,may help you

Cheers mate I'll have a look at your thread now. There is not actual rot on mine, just a few bits of slighty surface rust to sort out.

*EDIT*

Lol could take a while to read - 40 pages!

IF ITS JUST SURFACE RUST THEN ALL YOU NEED TO DO IT SAND RUST DOWN TO BARE METAL,THEN ETCH PRIME, THEN USE SOMETHING THAT IS CALLED QUICK FILL HIGH BUILD PRIMER AND PAINT AND THEN A COAT OF WAXOIL IF ITS NOT SEEN

I used a zip wheel, basically spinning wire brush that fits in your angle grinder. Takes it off mint! I found to be better than a drill. Safety specs at the ready
