the batt try is good and so is the chassis and sunroof!as said any S1 is worth doing, plus the fact i can weld, and all prep work is carried out by a good mate of mine!so cost aint a problem either, even all the panels i need only comes to 200 quid ish

my rs1600i looked champion until i began to pull panels off and interior out, then the orange tin worm began to rear its ugly head

have a look a my resto post to give you an idea of what kind of task you have in front of you, it will be hard and you WILL have those "why am i bothering with this" moments, but stick at it and take loads of photo's and once its finished it will be soooo worth it... trust me and mines not even finished

good luck, i say you rescue this S1 if you want any help or advice drop me a pm, if i can hekp i will

My neighbours are propper confused!!!

They saw a half decent series 1 leave my drive 2 weeks ago, only to be replaced by another, in a lot worse condition

Carl, WTF you spilt on my drive

Didnt see that when i came home

Its not that rusty, well, the rust has fallen completly off the car

Shell aint really that bad tho! no worse than old matey Rossco's when he started his

just one thing first mate ur car looks like it has the same prob as mine that the n/s wheel camber is exessive i bet if u try to fit a strut brace on ur car it wnt fit...

as mine didnt and wot it was that some nob had gobed up the battery traY with filler insteatd of weldiing it and the n/s suspension turret had droped towards the servo ad wheen i put a jig on it and pulled it back the hole in battery tray open and closed... just get it checked before u weld tray in otherwise u wnt be able to sort it out after easy..

easier to reshell but finding one that wont require work is bloody difficult, and the sense of achievement once the shell has been rebuilt by yourself is soooooo good

any updates, pics etc ?
