Default Project MNR Vortx RT+

Started building my Kit last wednesday, heres the pics so far...

Was going to be cossie powered but sadly import tax to cyprus where I have just got a job was £6000 and for the 1.2 engine is only £700.

Spec is MNR Vortx RT+ http://www.mnrltd.co.uk
Raceleda Lightweight Uprights, Brakes, Hubs
OZ Super leggera 15 inch wheels with toyo 888 205/50 15 tyres
Kawasaki ZX12R Engine
Pace Dry Sump
Digidash II dashboard and datalogger
Cossie 7.5 inch rear LSD

pace dry sump kit - not easy to plumb!

the engine with dry sump

Marc and Andy weld the chassis

International Man of Mystery gets grassed...

Steve builds a front lower wishbone

dry sump pr0n

Chassis off to powder coaters

chassis back from powder coaters... 2 days, not bad for 300 mile round trip

floors in, Thanks for buggering off early Andy :P

Zx12r has a real coke habit, I hope to get her sniffing petroleum fumes soon, far nice habit for an engine...

Now who's gonna sniff up my leftovers...

Oil cooler proves it can sniff with the best aeroquip fittings

Hubs on....

Diff in

Pump it baby

Loom with bonus freebie datatool evo veto alarm

Half shafts are all at an end...

The MNR Vortx is an olf the shelf kit, except its tailored to your choice of engine...

The R1 powered version is a bargain.. as low as £6000 complete

6.5 days and the wiring is done, just a few more parts to fit then the exhaust fabrication

Power to weight should be around 450bhp per ton

Latest Pics

Rear Arches are on, rear lights on the wings still need to fit num plate light, reverse and fog lights..

Gear Linkage finished, engine wiring finished, some plumbing started...

Front prop arrives monday, rear torque resiliant tube prop in, and VERY tight fit, only 2-3 mm clearance at present so we may have to mod the tunnel very slightly just to give more clearance...

brilliant. Really good value for money there too. Better off with a motorbike engine in a light wight kit car than a YB I reckon now, really well balanced and revvy!!

geared for around 130 mph and 0-60 around 3 seconds.. road legal slicks (TOYO 888'S) Should make it fun to drive on the road...

You gotta hear this thing when it revs, sounds simply awesome...

Biggest problem is gonna be SVA test (single vehicle authorisation) as they make you go through a full emissions test (and noise test) when you never have to do it again...

Getting an injection motorcycle engine down to 200 ppm hydrocarbons, 0.3% co and within lambda limits is bloody hard...

Note the quaiffe reverse box, and the torque resiliant prop (cush drive)

Theoretically this has 6 forward and 6 reverse sequential gears...

4000 mile zx12r motor and all dry sump gear has come to around £3600

Yes and I have attended a few of them as well...

Pays to be nice to the tester on previous SVA's as he let my steering thru with minimal self centering...

No point acting like a brat and giving them grief when they think they are giving you safety advice.. they just think "what a tossah"..

Thanks for the nice comments guys... shoulda been a cossie, but still got a decent car
