aye aye... bet those wrc parts cost a few bob, shouldnt be any problems with you reaching the desired power/torque with the engine spec

Righty - back at work on Monday after 3 weeks off due to my back... So last update until the shell is sorted!

Thought i'd get the 2 month old pics up from when i stripped my donor engine:

First take your donor engine:


Stick it on an engine stand:


Sump pan off:


Down to the fun stuff:


Conrod bolts out:


Rods and pistons out:


EVERYTHING OUT!!!!




Now - this is actually my old spec stuff but i love this photo so i'll share it:

Still waiting to find out more on the shell - Chris the guy who's spraying it still isn't well

However - i did place an order with Websters Race Engineering yesterday for a few bits...

Engine should be getting built soon enough too

I wish i had a decent job to allow me to aqquire a selection of parts like that.Im doing a budget zetec turbo build or about to start it.Going to buy decent pistons from Arias to go with my Focus RS rods.

I spent a good few hours chatting with Ian Howell at Fiesta In The Park (nothing to do with the fact it was pissing it down and he had a gazebo type thing...) He is a sound bloke and my rods and pistons (my spec, his suggestion, my tweaking, his agreeing - lol ) should be doormatting anytime next week, can't fault him for communicating with me over them

I don't have a particularly well paid job, what you have to remember is that this project is now nearly 2 years old and you'd be surprised how many decent bits you can acquire in that timescale.

I work damn hard for my money and i only want to do this once - so its getting done right

Righty - sorry it's slow progress at the moment but after a lot of thought i've made a difficult decision and requested the shell back from Chris unfinished.

As many of you will know Chris has been unwell for a large part of this year and i'd like to take the opportunity to publicly thank him for all his hard work, advice and wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Once i've got the shell back i'll decide from there what's happening with it...

In the meantime - the engine build is still going strong - some funky machining going on - i'll do a big pics update soon - promise

Thanks - the remaining work will be carried out by Nathan at Autobahn Accident Repair Centre in Blackpool - he's the guy who's sprayed the Yellow, Orange and Blue RC Evos...

Right guys - it's update time!

As some of you will know, i resigned from RC Developments on Saturday, so have had chance to get all the pics i promised you!!!

First, i need to say a big thankyou to Darren Chisnall at Roant Precision Engineering in Warrington for working to my fag packet sketches and carrying out the machining you'll see below!

We'll start with the WRC Inlet plenum... I decided to mount the Aeromotive fuel filter in the recess, but needed it opening out to accept the wider diameter, also, some half moon caps to hold it in place.



I also sketched up some adaptor plates to join the Titan 45mm Roller Barrel Throttle Bodies to the plenum...



Got my Siemens 650cc Injectors through from the states, would have preferred to have gone much bigger, but unfortunately the throttle bodies have an injector boss in them which massively restricts options.


Also picked up a DCOE manifold on ebay - not sure if i'll have room to use it yet - but i'm sure i can modify it!


All the plenum stuff laid out ready for assembly!


New MSD Ignition Coilpack


Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump


Aeromotive Pre Pump 10 Micron Filter


Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator


LOADS of Ford OE nuts, bolts, gaskets, seals etc. for the engine build


Billet Geared Oil Pump & WRC Water Pump


Brand New ST170 Rocker Cover, ARP Flywheel bolts, TIS & Microcat


Aeroquip Stuff


Nitrous Stuff

aye i know but the black centr peice is broken aswell as the rockercover, but is only the flab bit next to the pulleys so it will still seal
