Hmm im still in two minds about it. Might chuck in a cheap (500quid max) RS Turbo engine for a laugh, upgrade the brakes and suspension, then hack around in it until she rots away. Whilst at the same time saving up for a mint geniune RST too.

Or just save all my money for a mint RST and swap all the useful bits over from this one.

Don't think i could afford to be running two cars tbh - as it stands i'll be wating until atleast 2008 (july) for rst power

Over last weekend i decided to use up some spare hammerite i had lying about. The new wheels exposed the awful looking rusted callipers and drums, so......

Sorted 8)

No pics of the rear since the black can't be seen in the photos anyway.

Last night my sister and i went to the Glasgow Art Gallery to get a few shots - more can be seen in the photo gallery sub-forum:

Hoping to lug a turbo cvh into it at some point. Was initially going to throw thousands into the car, but ive come to the decision that this won't be very cost effective (with the car being a 1.1 base spec originally). Will chuck in a cheap CVH lump in a years time and buy a mint RS too

Looking sweet mate

Why not put a 1.8/2.0L zetec into it at some point? 130bhp with the right bits and a pretty reliable/cheap to run engine?

I have been thinking of this reciently - it'll be cheap and pretty straight forward. Will need to see what the insurance side of things will be like though, comes with being 19

My plans are:

Rebuild the recaros with new bolster foam
Colour code the door handles
Get the electrics fitted
Get both strut braces fitted
Fit exhaust
Might put on some sort of side strips
Clean the underside
4x4 Cos brakes

Then after that, i'll be planning what engine will be going in it.

True - its a tricky one when the money for a mint RS can go towards an equally as mint BMW 328i etc

Mine was the same fitment All that i needed to do was unscrew the corrent one and disconnect the ariel plug/connector, plug in the same wiring from the mk3 and use the screw which came with the mk5 ariel.

HTH

Can't fault you trying, don't get me wrong a FWD nimble little hatch will always be a great entertainer on the roads - hence my following of all hot hatches and Fords in particular, but theres more out there.

Sorry for the lack of updates folks, just haven't been all that bothered

Got a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R's for the front wheels a few weeks ago. Alot better than the Yoko's i had before, but about the same price to buy.

I really don't know what is next for it - whether or not to break it or turbo it?

Update:

Well with the arrival of my new car (Golf - https://passionford.com/forum/pictures-video-and-photoshop-forum/253911-my-golf-mk4-gti-anniversary.html the Fiesta is now unfortunaelty being broken.

Good news is that a guy in my local RSOC is probably going to take the shell to re-shell his RS1800 track car, so thankfully the car will live on in some form.

Thanks for everyones help and encouragement with this project over the years. I'll still be around here, and will be getting a Saph or EsCos in a few years time.

Cheers
