Yeah, sorry that pic is all I have at the moment, excuse the unicycling idiot in the foreground...
Mine hasn't moved for a year or more. I bought myself an Elise, and that has taken all my time, but I really should sort the S2 out, and this thread may have inspired me as the work to do mine is about 0.0001% of what has already been accomplished here.
I'll post my own thread somewhere else so this can return to Ben's fantastic project.

if you check the thread tomorrow night i will have some pics on here of the front of the cage and my front stut brace, aswell as a few other bits n pieces probably.
i got my metal tubing for the stut brace's from a local metal supermarket, paid 11 quid for a 1.5m length, it the same outside diameter as the rest of the cage but has a slightly thicker wall. dont bother buying the braces from somebody, all you need to do for the rear strut brace is grind out the curve so each side fits snugly into the strut top, then weld in like rest of cage.

they should both go to the rear turret but you've welded 1 from the corner of the main hoop to the floor ? which should go to rear turret
& the 1 you have got going to the rear turret should go to the middle of the main hoop (at the side) and you have welded it at the top
is this for any particular reason or was it a fitting issue (heard there can be height issues wth sunroof models)
lso your harness bars should be in the lower section
as your drawing above shows
not a dig or anything just curious

Dunc Maclean thanks Dunc
M K yeah the rear of my cage is different to the diagram, wondered when someone would spot that the cage doesnt actually come with instructions just a few pictures of a cage which is different to the one i have in the diagram the 3 bars at each side of the rear dont actually go to the strut tops they go to the floor where the rear seat used to be, but i didnt like the look of the X in that position (it seemed too upright) so welded the X to the strut tops instead. the metal plates you get to mount at the base of the rear stays are 3" square so wouldnt fit the strut tops anyway. plus it means this way the cage in my car is that little bit different
and as you say there are problems fitting with the sunroof in place, as i had to cut some pieces of the cage.
not taken as a dig by the way well spotted tho
stuart collins shell will be painted in the next month i'd imagine, chassis and interior finished by the summer and engine will be sometime after that, not very specific its all down to money, and the lack of it

front strut brace rested in position (battery tray has since been removed)
bars from main cage to front strut tops
didnt do much else to the car today because with snow on the ground outside it was fookin freezin in the garage, the bloody fires ran out of gas too
so heres a few pics of how it will look from outside the car through the rear screen
