i didnt have to measure it, i can tell
then i had a word woth god and god told he im right , Stu also had a look at a few secret things and then gave me the best advice ever
so im sorry to say but its been nicked and ill be calling the insurance company tommorow
just kidding, he said theres no det on the engine and so get a few more pics then post em up as even though its well over skimmed, no det and the fact there was no reason to take the head off apart from the little ends means it will go back together and not be a problem ( in theory)
so im gonna do that and then buy another head when i get time/money or even get the money to get a bling repair done, until i gotta stop worrying
so driving slow has its benifits

thats really minor and ben told that its nothing to worry about

ok heres another update , sorry we forgot camera when we took the engine out
basicly it was Cowboi and DanCossie with a hooooooge pole that cowboi had ( theres not a tool or item this fooker aint got i tell ya ) i was giving directions ( chuckle bro style "to me, to you, to me,,, too far back a bit ect ), engine was out and carried to my flat where we took it to ,,,,,,,,,,, ill let ya guess where it was done
AT THIS POINT I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THE MISSUS AGREED I WAS ALLOWED,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, HOW WAS I TO KNOW SHE THOUGHT I WAS TAKING THE PISS
anyway, enjoy
Engine was placed into workshop while we had a break
wimbledon over, we start getting to work
Clutch off
Flywheel off
Cowboi loves the camera dont he
DanCossie asked mentioned about the size of the sump as said must take alot of oil,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that point i suddenly think,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SHIT I NEVER DRAINED THE OIL OUT
yeah it holds alot of pigging oil , only done 300 miles aswell
closer look at 70 quid in a bucket <----- real tears btw
pullys ect removed
inside what a block looks like
turn it over and just look at the sump
theres alot of fooking bolts on there, must take a lifetime to undo em
dont take long at all for some reason
mmmmmmmmmmm they look like they come straight out to me
they do
INFACT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it all comes out very easy
well thats where i left it
we managed to get all that done and not make a mess in me front room, we was clever ya see and used cardboard to cover my white carpet , was a gamble but when we raised the carpet it was confimed it worked
until DanCossie takes the cardboard outside to throw away , now look
pmsl, look whats happened to me carpet
good news we need a new one anyway
cheers for the helping guys, hope ya will get it all back together like ya took it apart

Fuck. You must have one hell of an understanding missus. Hang onto her, you won't get another one that'll let you do that in the house. Mine used to give me shit for bringing my tools into the kitchen to give them a wash in the sink. If I'd brought the whole engine in, she'd have killed me.
Don't really matter now though, as she left me six months ago.
Oh to be single again and do what I want.

Just showed a buddy this post........ Fell off his chair laughing.
How the hell did you get away with doing it in the living room without your missus kicking you out into the street.
Love it, hope its all back together now.
Makes a great story just to read it from top to bottom, Love the footprint....after all that.

it got alot fecking worse mate
quick rundown on the "bad news" in the rebuild
1: 3 bent rods
2: bore 3 was worn by the bent rod making it need a 1mil over bore, scrapping the block
3: min head thickness is 137.8mil, mines at 137.0
4: due to needing a new head/block/rods/bearings/oil pump/cams/pistons its alittle more than a "rebuild" as such
so ive bought a engine to get it back on the road while i decide what im best of doing as imo to spend 6k on a car that cost 4k is stupid
at the moment im cleaning the bay ect and gonna get the engine ready for fitting, will show a few more piccys when i get round to actually doing some work on the car
