Focus ST225
Well a short while ago whilst going through checks for a hernia operation, it became apparent that I actually had colon cancer, so I'm set to have a rather unpleasant but important operation. I made this video over the space of a few days, and it'll prob be my last video for a couple of months. So here it is, and Merry Christmas everyone.
So here's an odd one for you all, I'm still making content and doing little jobs on my 07 Mk2 ST pfl with 1st gen keyless ignition (the one with the key built into the ignition), and a few weeks ago I repaired a faulty wiper motor relay on the body control module, then a wheel speed sensor on the N/S rear wheel, and a couple of days ago I re-soldered the pins on the back of the cluster, as occasionally I'd either lose the display, or it would do something random, but here's the thing. The car was fine for a day, but now it's doing something really odd with the central locking.
Both key fobs work with the car, but if I lock the car with either remote, and return within 3 hours, I can unlock the car, and all is good.
If I lock the car with either fobs and return to the car after 8 hours, everything is fine.
If I lock the car with either of the fobs, and leave it for 12 hours, I can't unlock the car with either either of the fobs, but oddly I can open the door, just by pulling the handle, but the alarm sounds. I can't switch off the alarm with either of the fobs, or by turning the ignition key to on, I can even start the car and drive it around with the siren going off and the indicators flashing. I then have to disconnect the BCM to switch the alarm off.
IF - however I leave the car to auto lock, and walk away, it doesn't matter if I leave it for a day or two, I return, use the key fob to unlock the auto locked car, and can carry on as usual.
The car runs fine, boost fine, changes gear etc all fine ?
It's almost like if the car goes into a deep sleep with me locking it with the fob, and it forgets the key fob. I've not looked at the receiver in the N/S back of the car, but it's just such an odd one.

Well here we are, it's 2026, and I just thought I'd up date everyone with where the Focus ST is, and where I am in like.
As some of you may have read or seen in one of my YouTube videos, back in January 2025 I had a major operation on my colon to remove a stage 3 cancer growth the size of a lime. I actually had NO signs of being ill, and was SO deeply involved in work my fuel time job, also working on my radio breakfast show and career, also production and editing content for my own business and for other people, well I didn't realise I was even the slightest bit tired or loosing weight.
Anyway fast forward a year, and although though I've had life changing surgery, I'm still recovering and fighting the fight. I had about 5 months of chemo followed with 6 months of alternative therapy for nerve damage caused by the chemo, and although I returned to work, all be it for only 4 days a week, it's been a real struggle. I also returned to doing my second job at a local radio station doing 3 breakfast shows a week, which I later cut to 2, and at the moment, I've stepped away completely to concentrate on my recovery.. well the Focus is still being used as my daily, I still enjoy it, and it's actually the longest I've owned one car in my life.
The MOT is due at the end of February, and I have a list of jobs to do, sadly a lot I can't do at the moment, but plan on doing as much as I possibly can. The car is still a riot to drive - although I would love another 80bhp or so.. (wouldn't me all).
Anyhow, I just thought I'd pop on the old Passion Ford, and let you all know things are still happening - all be it at such a SLOW rate.
