MTX75 Conversion (New member, First post)
Hello All
I am new to the forum so my apologies if this post is in the wrong place.
I am currently underway with converting the gearbox in my ST150 Race car from an IB5 to an MTX75.
The gearbox is built and ready to go in, it has been fitted with an LSD and Short ratio gears.
I am struggling to figure out the correct combination of gearshifter, cable and cable control bracket.
The gearbox casing is from a Ford C-max 2006, which had a 1.8 petrol duratec HE Engine . Which meant that the bellhousing is the same as the 2.0 Duratec HE in my FIesta ST150.
I got the gearbox from a scrapyard, along with the shifter, cables and control bracket.
Unfortunately it is a vertically mounted shifter, which wont work in the Fiesta.
So i went back and got a horizontally mounted shifter from a car which had an mtx75.
However, it doesnt fit with the cables or the control bracket i have from the C-max .
Can anybody help me determine if it is the cable control bracket or the gear cables themselves which need to be changed, and what the correct one is.
Many thanks
