The car is still at JM imports, she's going on the ramps tmrw as I want diff oils changing and there going to fit a billet drag sump for the trans/diff
currently has stock sump so gonna change it out now giving it best chance to hold up to some full bore launching

Mapping is Monday but looking at the weather forecast I think it's going to have to be postponed again, gutted :-(

Drag wheels arrived today front tyres brand new, and rears are low but still have some tread on, at least I can have a go at pod before I've got to shell out more coins

Front new tyre 275/45r18 racemaster

Rear worn tyre 325/40/18 racemaster

The centre section of the front tyre doesnt have tread from new so if the rears the same it's not to bad

Will only be used for pod, just gotta decide if I drive there or trailer there ........

Will be launching it mate I'm not fannying about with this one, should go 9s with the r888s and 8s with the drag radials hopefully once dialled in by racecal

First off I will go pod, road wheels r888s pump fuel start at low boost, launch control and run and then up the boost each run

If I get to 2 bar and nothing breaks then onto drag wheels and ethanol pal, that's the plan

Should run 8s comfortably if that power figure quoted is correct,if it doesn’t then there’s something wrong or the dyno is exaggerated,I’m sure you’ll figure it out .When you going anyway

As you know mate it will only pull the 8s if it launches like a mofo
The dyno can't be exaggerated on the wheel figures I don't think as it was 300 hp less on the same dyno when it ran 9.9 154 mph at totb last year pal, with 154 mph being bang on for 1050 whp+, Jürgen said with 18" rims and drag radials it pulled a 9.7 161 mph !! 300 hp more now but a chunk more lag to go with it

Not sure when going but I'm hoping a few lads from here will come along including yourself if your up for it

I'm excited as will have proper launch control for the first time at pod

Yeah I’m up for it if I’ve got something ready, but don’t forget totb is concrete completely different than a prepped drag strip, just don’t leave your gearbox on the start line 😂

That's why I'm starting on low boost low launch rpm pal then ramping it up each run, I've asked Jürgen to not be mega aggressive with the launch control yet

Need to save that for the proper drag tyres at low pressure and have the launch dialled in at the track on race fuel 1326 whp, I can't wait to feel what that feels like

I know there will be 8 maps first 4 for pump fuel and all 8 can run with ethanol, ive asked if I can have progressing rpm launch as I go up through the maps, that way if I get a problem as I ramp it up, I can launch on say setting one and once I've launched and have full grip just click it up to a higher map for more boost and power

I cant custom set launch rpm they can only be preset, well unless I learn how to do it and plug my laptop in, I do have one with syvecs on it from my other gtr, not sure I want to mess with it though incase I fuck it up lol

What cars have you got in the pipeline then mate ?

Well she's home

Had a quick drive up the road straight on cal 4 2 bar of boost lol
I was braced for violence but there was very little, I was expecting all hell to brake loose but it didn't, the turbos I think are so big the boost comes in progressive and doesn't give that big hit and brake traction like my RS6 does
it doesn't feel slow by any means but I think what makes my RS6 and the other gtr feel so fast is the huge torque at low rpms
My vbox will be out in due coarse so I can see in real terms where it's at

I've never had an engine that revs like it once above 6k rpms it's like it almost instantly hits 8k plus
And the gear changes are like a sledgehammer, instant hard shifts like I've never experienced before

Gonna tuck it away for now til all this lock down is over, but I'm happy it's a race car that's for sure, hard suspension, visious gearchanges and an engine that wants to scream 😁

In fact when I think about it I remember thinking and saying my RS6 feels quicker than my other gtr when in fact it is alot slower, but the RS6 makes boost almost from idle and huge torque at lower rpm than the gtr does

🤣😂 Lol
I asked jurgen and he said I need r r off when racing, I had it on when I drove it so I guess it may of been holding it back for grip etc

Carbon boot and duckbill was in back seat, I've just took it out its so light can easily pick it up with 1 hand

Got my reg on and put number plates on
And the recaro seats are much wider than standard much better for getting my wide arse in them 😁

Have tried to see turbos but there buried way down the sides, can just see top of manifolds, can see a weld seam so there not cast, but look thick and strong like cast
