The biggest update at the minute is,
Im in court in the morning for 2 speeding offences which may get me banned and a big fine the best part is i was in the pub at the time and didnt see a single speed camera in there while i was drinking so im puting it on hold for the min until this is settled.
Also waiting for my soliciters to give me a reasonable setlement figure for an accident that i had 2 years ago so cash flow is poor too.
Sorry peeps but it will get done soon, hopefully be complete for when i go to the show in holland september 9th - 11th as i really want to take it there.

Hi again people, the sierra project is off the cards at the min and staying that way for a while however ive managed to get my hands on a 1.8 Sapphire which is really tidy for much cheapness, the bad thing is ive also managed to melt a piston in it which brings me to my next project.

Good luck getting the Saph parts to fit on the 3 door we just did it on fudges 3 door and it needed a lot of cutting and extending to get it to line up.
Fudges car came in to us in better condition than that and took over 100 hours of work to get it into a good condition
Not trying to put you off but its a big big project

Pic of my old 1984 1.6l fitted with Sapphire Cosworth front end and new shape rear panel, lights etc.
Inner wings needed modifying to get the wings to fit, front scuttle under the windscreen was changed for a later one as well as the slam panel.
If I can dig out a better pic I will scan it and show how the 3 door arches fit with a Sapphire front bumper and the late rear end.

EDIT to add I did none of the bodywork
I fitted the V8, Cosworth running gear, interior etc but left the paint to pro's. At one point it had the Cossie rear wing but looked it also was more of a sleeper without it.
Mk1 to Mk2 3 door pics.
These were taken around 14 years ago when the Mk2 shape was the "new" thing They were also taken on a crap cartridge camera.
Base car
Some pics of it finished showing the small filler pieces that were needed to mate the 3 door arches to the sapphire front end and Mk2 rear.

But you can't beat the sound of a V8
It was a 4.5 Rover pushing out 280bhp at the wheels, I had it timed by "Performance Tuning" magazine 0-60 5.2 secs 0-100 in 11.7 secs
It was always a struggle to get the power down

If you could hear the sapphire that ive just built as my every day car mate you would probably go wild for it, Ive got a 24 valve in it with the 2 2.9 middle boxes fitted to the exhaust and a muffler 4.5" stainless tailpipe,
ive heard nothing like it but i will say for sure it is possibly the hrniest sounding sierra that i have ever heard.
