Default Another Fiesta Build

Plans have changed slightly now, last year Mark at Mk Motorsport offered me a fiesta with a JWRC kit installed. Being a lover of these I couldn't say so after some discussion with Mark we decided on the best way forward with this car. Mark would strip out the complete inside and put the car on his jig that was set up for a Gordon Vincent Escort Cosworth WRC. New turrets have been installed to suit a WRC cosworth, all new mounts with a rear cradle. Cosworth engine installed with my 6 speed sequential box. Full roll cage made and fitted by Mark. The work has been top class from Mark, all going well I will have my car back in the next couple of months.
By the time I get it back, it should be sitting on all 4x wheels with engine and box installed. All running gear installed and new fuel tank supplied by Mark as well with a custom exhaust to suit. custom steering set up as well. The car was getting close to be ready, but since my last visit to Mark we have decided to go for a for a full aluminium dash and centre consul with doors cards as well now.

There is still a lot of work to do with gearbox tunnel cill tubes, seats to mount, steering rack steering column etc. So Mark has still got his work cut out for him over the next couple of months.

Enjoy the pics

Is this going to be a rally car or track car? You are certainly doing a lot to it, should be a beast when its finished!

Track car, but trying to keep it optional though for rally use.

Well it has been a while since I last made an update.
Mark has made good head way over the last 2-3 months so I thought it was time to show where we are with the car. I spent the morning at Marks to finally view the car to see his work and I am well please with what he has done for me. All going well I should get it back soon.

Mark is just in the process of setting up the camber for the car then he will be moving on the last few jobs before collection. It has worked out well to get the wheels to fill those arches without using any spacers.Another Fiesta Build-img-20180604-wa0016.jpg

When do you plan to pick it up? I expect you are itching to build it up, I know I am as I think your car is in front of mine in the queue still.

Looks amazing and it shows me pretty much what mine will be like as we have so closely specced them.

It will be ready when Mark has finished it I suppose, I would rather aim for his quality and eye for detail rather than focus on time lines to be honest, and so far no complaints from me at all. It would be a shame to push him and get it out of the door and then realise something has been over looked.

I would agree I am probably ahead of your car (yours is looking very nice by the way and no doubt will similar to mine except for the body shell)
But if my car has to sit there for a bit longer I am happy as I know the end result will be worth it based on what Mark can do. I would like to get it back to stop my wife turning my garage in to some sort of yoga project room for her and storage centre for the kids.

Well I took the 3 hour journey to Marks to see how my car was coming along, well I was pleased to see the progress made on the car and with it getting closer to completion it was good to finally sort out the driving position and finalise the last jobs that need to be completed on the car.

Wheel camber is all sorted some fine adjustment to be made once the car is back home. so moving forward I should have it back home for next month. A few new bits are now waiting to install with a new EFR turbo.

Just a few jobs to do now.

Sorry for the quality of the pictures.

between 500 - 600 BHP, but I am not sure if I will ever to drive it that fast with that sort of power so I might just keep it at modest 475 BHP.

Nice ! You will mate just given time, you'll soon get used to the power and want more I'd take it to it's full potential I know when mine is done it will be scarey = max adrenaline but I won't push it until I can feel the cars limits that's the fun of taming animals

Just a different body shell, I have just changed some of the engine set up as well to bring it up to date. I am now going with drive by wire and EFR turbo, I am planning on going with a more up to date ECU as well. Next year all going well Im going to probably go with paddle shift as well, Im not sure it will require a more up to date sequential box though.

Yes, it literally is a different shell and just the gearbox different really.

Talk to me if you are planning on swapping the box as I might be looking for a sequential then, although paddle shift does make a lot of sense when you need to hang on. You will love the EFR.
What ECU have you got to run the drive by wire?

Im going to get one through Mark Shead, I touched base with him briefly but he was away at the time so I didnt want ot bother him whilst he was away. Once I have had more in depth conversation with him I will get him to supply one with new engine loom and also get him to dyno and set up the engine as well. Hence I would like the car back so I can get all this started in the new year whilst I get the shell ready for paint.

Cool, that will be the Emtron then, that can do paddle shift as well etc. It would be nice to come and see the car when you are over with Mark Shead or maybe let me know when it is going on the rollers as it would be good to meet you and have a look at the car. He often uses a rolling road 20 mins from my house.

Small turbocharged 4WD cars are pretty much my favourite thing ever, especially when they are Fiestas! Great read so far (and I love the Fiesta MK Motorsport built before), so look forward to seeing how this turns out!

I know theres has been a few upset people from the threads I have read, but Im not getting involved that, for me he has done what I have asked within a reasonable time and I have no complaints so far. He is building my car to a decent spec and making suggestions for improvement as we go long. hopefully not to long now before I get it back. and then engine out and get the new ECU & loom it needs and dyne as well.

Quick Reply: Another Fiesta Build
