Going to be a nice car mate will be following your build
.
As in the post above with what Ian has said this is very true. I have changed all my setup to new wrc parts from Dewitts Although mine is not a genuine Wrc Built car by boreham or Gordon vincent it is fully to the wrc spec and to the measurements used by gordon. And with regards the setup it was a nightmare getting right even down to the wrc crossmember there is 3 different types i had issue getting the tca arm spacers needed for the new crossmember i got made by Gordon Vincent from Dewitts so in all what Ian is saying is very true there is alot of different parts for the wrc escos that where made genuine. As i myself had to get Dennis Osborne to sort out wee issue i had with mine. All the very best with the build as i know what it takes to do this

Yes mark all bar the rear cradle has been changed on it.so i was just picking up on Ian quote that the genuine parts are and can be mix match.Basically what i mean is i have paid well for genuine parts to be made that where not right or had to be adapted and so on example my new genuine wrc hub stubs would not mate to my new wrc CV joints and rear flanges these i had to get machined to fit
I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

Been to see Mark today and collect some parts as he promised.
Got there at 11am and left at 12.30....I don't know where that hour and half went
.....trouble is it's so interesting looking at stuff in there and talking to him time just flys

Will post some pics of things I collected in morning.
Thanks Mark

Left a cam cover with Mark yesterday to take lettering off and convert to Yaris coil packs. He's also filling the two holes in where the cam belt cover bolts to.....got these picks this morning

Very happy with progress to date. As said by us all Mark's work is top draw.
I, for one, am very happy

Nick (member on here) is currently stripping and checking/cleaning two engines for me. One is for the WRC car running 5-600hp (hopefully), the other is a 2.4 N/A for a MK2 escort.(It's the one with head still on).
Nick's work is also spot on. He is very meticulous and won't cut corners, even when I start jumping up and down at the cost

He built my MK2 Escort from scratch 7 years ago and, although never used in competition, it's been driven 'enthusiastically' since been built and has never broken down.

Nice parts there pal. I’m hoping my next load of parts will be ready soon. A billet inlet and throttle body, hydraulic handbrake and a front bladed roll bar kit.
How long til you turn key?
How long til you turn key?
My plan at the moment is;
Get all parts and shell sorted by Mark
Get shell in paint and engine built.
Put car on it's wheels then put it to bed. I know that sounds stupid but theirs method in my madness.
I have a mk1 escort to build and both Mark and Nick have told me that once we have the wrc car on the road I won't want to drive anything else

So, to avoid never building the MK1, we'll finish that first.........hopefully.So, I've spoken to Mark about the MK1 with a view to him sorting it. He's never done one before but is keen to have a go. I'm quietly confident he'll make a good job
He'll be coming up with a right load of 'bright' ideas for it............all of which will be expensive!!

He's already 'told' me he's putting a cradle in it!!
Re suspension, I'll be putting the wrc suspension in your hands as and when

Collected the second bladed anti roll bar and a WRC breather from Mark today.
Next weekend will be getting the 8 injector inlet manifold and one of Mark's exhaust manifolds.......steady stream of parts ready on a regular basis
Thanks Mark

[QUOTE=jonfoc;6757874]I got my 2nd bladed arb the other day. I’m hoping my inlet will be done with yours or sooner. It’s the only bit I’m missing now.[/QUOTE
I'll see you there
Are you building a car or modifying one Jon?

8 injector manifold ready. Mark's 'adjusted' it to accept our throttle body as we'll be running fly by wire throttle.
These are a real work of art.
Wouldn't look out of place in my living room as an ornament!

If I’m honest mate I’ve been on the missing list ignoring a few people for no reason other than it’s a crap time of year for me around Christmas. A lot of loss and sadness gets on top. Anyway I’m still alive and my head is from up my arse and I’m getting my shell back home this weekend thank God

I hope to get one of the Roller barrel ones with individual throttle butterflies but that is a little way down the list of priorities at the moment, I kick myself for not buying the Mountune one that came up for £1800 a few yrs back, Mark Shead told me to buy it and I didn't.
