Thought it was about time I had a record of work I'm going to be doing to my Cossie. Ive had it for approx 11 years now and been through a few changes over that time. I bought it very cheap due to the colour but was 100% standard when I first bought it with less than 43,000 miles on the clock! I have never had much money so everything has been on a very tight budget but finally landed a job that well paid so hopefully now I can crack on with some proper work! Plans are to totally restore it one day with full respray but I was to be able to use it all the time so I'm not going for any concours type restoration just nice clean useable example. I'll post some pics up that I have on this phone but will try and get some earlier pics up from when I first bought it

Story so far is it's basicly stage 3 spec
Dark greens
3 bar map sensor
Rs500 style 60mm intercooler
Group a coil conversion
Group a heasgasket and air filter
Samco hoses
Dump valve blanked (for chatter)
Msd stage 3 chip
Peaks 26psi holds 24psi boost
Standard t3 turbo
Koni shocks and springs
Full polybushed throughout
Mongoose exhaust
Interior boost,charge and temp gauges
Intake temp gauge
Temporary alloy wheels 17" tsws
Updated discs and pads
Mostly just spent years servicing it and fixing it when it goes wrong and keeping it mechanically well. Due to the low mileage being 34,000 when I bought it it's never had any welding done apart from a new wing which was hit a month before I bought it. I've kept it waxoyled since I've had it. Paintwork is pretty terrible and needs a full respray but never had the money before, just enjoyed it. I have a new bootlid in the garage as centre spoiler post area on original has rotted through and needs both o/s doors as some silly woman drove Into the side of it
hopefully I'll be able to make a start of a lot of the work it
Needs fairly soon so I'll add updates to this as and when I can. I've bought some lattice wheels a few months ago and their in the back of the garage waiting for a refurb but I'm still making my mind up on what wheels I want on there.

Sounds like it's well worth restoring. As least you know you won't be wasting any money spent on it.

Cool. Your engine spec is the same as mine. Mine also boosts to 26psi and holds at 24.
Your the same as me. Im not loaded and have tried to maintain mine with not alot of money. The most money ive spent on mine is for bodywork due to 2 shit bodyshops.
I always got told for eg if you buy a saff for 5k you will need 5k to maintain it.

Some people think every 3000 miles is excessive - I don't, it keeps the engine completely carbon free.

Good than harm but I don't do the miles really prob less than 2000 a year these days but oil sat for a long time idle probably isn't too good either so when I mot it I change it while it's on the ramp

A while a go I was trying to read upon on oil degradation over time if it's sat there..
From what I read, if the oil is in a sealed container, drum, bottle etc. then it'll be fine, even years later. But possibly not in the bottom of an engine, because air or more importantly, oxygen, can get to it.
I wouldn't think it a good idea to use oil that's been sat in a sump for 5 years for example.
