Mk2 escort 2dr build- it's painted
My mates had this car for about 6 months, it was a 1600xf but that got pulled out and a pinto put into place, after months of sitting doing nothing I said I would get the welding and bodywork sorted as he cant weld or paint and he helped me out building my Cossie
Pic of the day it arrived at the workshop
Front wings and front panel were soild but badly bent so off they came
Rad cut out panel fitted
Rear panel, again it was solid, but full of dents and twisted so off that came
And fitted
Front panel on
And the wings fitted
That was done last Thursday
Moved the cars round, pic next to my mk1
Hit the car big time today, did a 12 hour day on it. Hoping to get the welding finished by end of play tomorrow and then straight onto getting the bodywork done
Plan is to have the shell fully painted by next Monday!

Lol yea that was done by a mate of mine.
Anyway, cracked on yesterday, got the floor finished up, relocated the gearstick hole and welded on the gearbox mounts.
Also got the seat bars finished off
Bay is now ready for prep
Car is now pretty much a bare shell
Interior all finished off, went round the whole car with the seam sealer, so ready to start on the prep work today.
Heading over to the paint suppliers this morning to get some colour

Just got home, managed to get the interior, bay and boot painted, pics don't really do the colour justice, it's bright!
Back on it first thing tomorrow to get the outer shell flatted down, make sure all the repairs have come out well, there's a couple of bits that will need re doing on the quarters, so another hit of primer on those areas tomorrow night and blow some colour on Sunday/Monday

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
I don`t know if you are going to scrap the 4dr shell, but my brother needs 2 A pillars for his 2 door MK2
Thought they were the same for 4 and 2 door versions..

Thats even better, another car saved..
Was just asking, would be a shame if someone scraps a shell when some could need some parts of it..

I break sierras mate so not a lot gets wasted.
Right here's the updated pics, waiting for a load more stuff to turn up now which should be here Monday/Tuesday and then we can get it looking more like a car again
Hoping the car should look pretty different to most other 2drs. My mates gone for L spec looks, straight chrome bumper etc
I think it's going to look really nice

All the glass is in, interior starting to go back in, wiring is mostly done, brakes sorted, bias box in etc
Having a break from the car for a couple of weeks as we have so much other work on, but it will be at classic ford show. And I'm doing a quick build up of another saph I own, got customers cars to do as well as cars to break.
