Once all parts are here will be dropped to M.A.D to strip of the drivetrain then take it to Beenham Body Shop in Reading to powder coat underside parts and underseal and waxoil cavity's. Paint rear spoilers il be taking pics of every step of the progress.
Back to M.A.D get it put back together next step is the engine bay. Looking to go Carbon bits and swap the blue samco hoses to black samco hoses and get the polished parts powered coated black.
This is how it was when I first bought it. Change of wheels, lights have been done since and a few parts been bought. Car is at M.A.D from this Monday gone and getting all the above done.
Got Rs500 grills & ducts to fit ambers front & sides, Nomands, Standard headlights and few more parts probably stick with clears Rs500 grills and Nomands for now.
Fiber Glass replacement splitter not as chunky as the original. But the original is way to mint to leave on and I don't fancy getting it damage.
Started to get engine bay stuff ordered few bits left yet. Weld joins to polished out and have the cover carbon dipped
Crackle paint and carbon dipping for engine bay to be done by Rich @ RG Motorsport.
Cyril Boltons old car. This car will have been looked after as Cyril is older
than me if that's possible . Remember that French mag shoot it featured This car , mine & Paul Johnston Fiesta. It was back in February 2006.
I still have the mag
Nice looking car! I still have the issue of Performance ford it was in. Looks like you have some serious plans for it too.

? Standard ratio at moment but having gearing dropped so will be quicker through the gears. If you are talking about the long box that was to much like a Subaru sti box with the 3.9 gearing to close and tight . Was thinking about swapping it when the gearbox was removed to a long box sticking with what I have. Im sure it will have standard feel with half the gear throw on what im having. Some people probably prefer the long box feel but not for me.
Thanks, I imagine with massive power the close, long box is too quick. Still toying with it on mine which is 470 bhp with a Borg on it.
The quickest is good its just feeding the gears in which I found not to my liking way to close between gears and very tight if you aint getting it 100% you will be crunching gears. You would get use to it I suppose but im only using it as a road car and prefer what I'm going for.
Few parts for the engine bay not planning on completing blinging out the engine bay but think it will go nicely with carbon and crackle. If it don't look right they will get painted black. Comestic gasket going in on most of the parts being removed along with Ford OE gaskets on other parts. Cambelt and tensioner is also due which will be done also.
Next step is the underside of the car as its all apart it wont take much to get it mint. After having a Chat with Terry (1TJH) who has helped me out with some sound advice. I was thinking of having the orignal underseal stripped off and having the underside of the car painted to original colour and all parts sandblasted and put back to original colour bolts/driveshafts ect.
Still waniting to keep the car useable but still looking good im gone go for full underseal, all cavities waxoiled, all parts sandblasted and paint black with the drivetrain in silver. With all bolts/washers nickel plated.
Pics will come when Mark starts to get the car stripped off. Just for Mr Muck Loving car plates and gear gaitor is also getting changed
I like your plans. I bought a media blast cabinet and have started doing the little bits on my car, a few bits at a time. I also bought a zinc plating kit but think I am going to leave that to the pro's as although I have had some good results other have not been too good.
If there is a spec of surface rust on anything I chuck it in the blaster and then repaint it....very satisfying
