Ive herd a few people make reference to this. I think the problem lies with over braking. If the car dose not weigh a huge amount you don't need massive brakes un less of course you do a lot of track days or are continually braking from very high speeds. My saff seems perfect on the road with 330's
For brakes I have just put 308 on the rear and similar on the front.

You would have to be speak to Mark about what flywheel he has fitted it felt no different to me than a Excedy twin plate on a Evo. Apart from the problems I said in my earlier post. You are more than welcome to come try out the clutch for yourself when the car is done.

I've been offered a very healthy profit on the car or ready when its done. I'm not looking to sell it. I don't have no other cars that I like to say I'd like to own apart from a 997 Turbo even then I could have bought 1 but I'd rather have the Cossie. People say Club Registers over value cars im in the 40s would have to be some offer if you seriously wanted it.

I'd no way sell it lol. I've never ever got people who build a car to a very high spec then brake or sell it and buy something everyday then bang on about how happy they are. I'd miss mine like fook first nice sunny day and I fancy going out hunting for some one to waste lol

You get to an age where you don't think like that Andy. Look around this site very very very few over 60. Even I don't crave my car anymore. Martin walked away as has MikeR its what happens as you get older. There are much more important things in life than a fast car. I was 51 before I started this Cossie lark so im an exception. I built my life before I built my car, the correct way round. I see youngsters on here spending fortunes on cars at a time investing in property is a far better idea. Starting at 51 & set-up financially I could build a car most can only dream of BUT its nearing the end for me I want a more sedate pace to life. I want a 1930's car it wont waste anyone like yours but will give me more pleasure than my Cossie has done in the last couple of years. Even you will grow up Andy

Yes from 51 to 61 I was motivated & competitive. I retired at 61 & ive simply slowed down & became interested in other things. Now get back to talking about this great Escort. Remember Cyril also got to old to want an Escort even at this Spec.

Some pics of what was done at Beenham Bodyshop to the underside. Done a brillant job on the underside. Any bit off surface grinded back to metal treated before undersealing.
Door seals taken off cleaned and waxoiled down door shuts
All cavities waxoil injected doors, boots inner wings ect. Undersealed and waxoiled sides and rear or car.
Dropped back at M.A.D to strip the remaining parts of the underside and remove parts off the engine bay.

Engine before the start of the strip down.
Mostly stripped down got rocker cover, pulleys, alternater, thermosta housing ect to have taken off to get sandblasted and done in satin black and carbon dipping all bolts to be cleaned up either zinc plated or replaced with stainless bolts.
Thanks to Matt Lewis Motorsport for sorting these out: Driveshaft/Steering gaiters, drop links. Black silcone hoses to replace all hoses in engine bay, release bearing, thermostat, waste spark cap, manifold nuts/washers, stainless rocker bolts.
Waiting on new handbrake/clutch cable, braided goodridge hoses all round ect
Centre caps painted silver & front rep splitter fitted Rs500 grills & ducts

Clocks removed to be sent to Cozzed to change the backing material to white to match the Stack gauges.
Same as this when the clocks are done with red needles
