Maybe the Pistons will have arrived by then .

The new heat shield bits have arrived so it will really smarten things up under the bonnet. Need to drop the struts to remove the Spec-R strut brace towers that need to be re-painted.
After that i can fit the electronic pedal to the car. Manual throttle will be used on the Dyno.

Progress is painfully slow but so is my lifestyle these days but it will get there lads even if im to decrepid to ever drive it again .
Looking really good Rod, the crank looks pretty heavy duty!

Next time you see Mark please poke him in the eye and tell him to hurry up with my Pug.

A good wife is the most essential thing in life & it sounds like you have one . See so many on here with relationships that have gone wrong & the hatred that follows. We do have a cleaner once a week to keep us on our toes nothing like the Missus cleaning up because the cleaner is comming .
Really do wish i could cook, have started to learn a few tips since i retired. Every thing outside is my territory but i like gardening so not a problem.
We are having friends round tonight to celebrate the 42 years, saw a rather nice cake hidden away so should be good.

Arrow Rods - 8mm Longer to Marks spec & only available to MAD.

The Flywheel- Under instruction not to say too much as this is part of a secret squirell Assy. Only allowed to show this part of the Flywheel Assy.

Its a sobering thought that parts above cost Ł5400. Its starts to show the cost of developing a 1000bhp engine & giving it a chance of holding together. Still trying to get my head around Ł1000 for the head studs & nuts at Ł23 each .

Still waiting for the Pistons which are due soon & of course I 100% believe them . Mark is also re-thinking the valve springs. Apparently some loon driver wants to rev to 9k every gear change.

The car is to be removed from its tomb where its been for 34 months next week & placed in the work area .

Next job is mods to the drysump system & fitting the dbw pedal in the car.

Ive no idea its all taking a long time far longer than i thought. The Pistons were ordered 5 months ago & still not here. At 6 months i will cancell & ask Mark to fit other Pistons.
Been several weeks since i thought about the car had a bit of a health scare this week & was taken in for observation. Im OK now it seems but these are warnings so i need to be carefull.

The Pistons have arrived. Mark has not checked them yet .
The Valve Springs have also been decided on so all bits have now arrived .
Will take the Pistons & cams to be balanced towards the end of next week & try to get them done as soon as possible.
I want to start on a bit of under bonnet tidying up & a few parts will be resprayed that could start next week. Also need to trial fit the modded dry sump pan on the Block (in the car) dont want any shocks further down the line.

Usually new development is done on my engine but Mark has built an EVO to a similar Spec using 9180, Jenvey & Dry-sump system & a problem has reared its ugly head the Jenvey distribution system melts & leaks when protected it still will not seal under extreme conditions. The solution on the EVO was to use a 2nd injector rail as the block. Mark wants to use 8 staged injectors on mine so another solution will be required.
Still holding off on the DBW it looks likely the Jenvey motor wont fit with the Dry-sump in place. This will be looked into after the Dyno session.
Its probably 50/50 that we will use DBW.

LOL
I thought the idea of a thread was to show people what your doing james lol
if its all secret don't start a thread ,I think things have moved on loads james since rod started his build with the alloy blocks etc as Harvey etc has shown,so I wouldn't think people would want to copy now ,anyway good luck rod it will still be a impressive car

Does Harvey post pictures of alloy blocks and all the components?

Rods invested a lot into the build, so it should only be shared with who he sees fit. But he's basically already said that in this thread anyway

If all the balancing parts work, and fix the cracking block issues, I'm sure plenty would want to copy it!

I have a good wife too. I do 90% of the cooking 90% washing the post 80% washing the clothes. 70% house work lol. 10 sex ha ha ha. She lets me spend money on my cars though so I cant complain. She is like my best friend too. Anyway back to your car. Nice selection of parts you have been getting for your car.

The balancing won't fix the problem it's something else I believe is really trick and I am 100% sure no one else has tried this on a Yb. A few people has seen it and I think I supprised them
Also I believe in employing the services of people that are cleverer than myself helps

Yep!
I was one of those that took a step back & thought REALLY!!!. Its an aircraft solution & i knew about it but its implimentation into the YB is rather clever. If it dont 100% cure the problem at least we have given it a good shot. The rattler on the front is also special as we dont have a standard crank its there to help as well. We have already chopped out the front cross member & put a new one in 4" further forward to give extra space but it will still need a Thin Fan conversion im sure.

I started another thread about my 1off panels they are now in manufacture & due on the 12th. I will post pics when they arrive.
You download the software then create the panel & specify the finish etc,
Mine are Powder coated Black. The position of the rear facing studs can also be seen. Sorry about the scan didnt take as much care as i should have.

Have done a few wiring mods as Emtron can better cope with Traction Control but have taken Flat Shift out as it was never used & not really suitable for my box.

The Panels have arrived. They look good so well pleased.
Have purchased an old Saff Amplifier from e-bay for Ł10 . Removed the facia & cut to clear the Panel. Still have to drill Stud fixing holes but then it will be Assembled & fit in the hole in the Saff dash.
Just realized they sent me a packet of company Jelly Babies - That i like

They arrived well packaged.

You pompous Arsehole. Show me the Harvey Dyno Chart .
The head on that engine is not suitable for a Turbo engine is all i will say about wanting to copy it .
Engine Builders & Engine Designers are not the same.
Love the 'Its moved on' part since we started. We are the Ones still developing this engine believe me we have moved on big time. You appear to have got that around the wrong way .

This crisis has deepened ive asked a couple of very young experts & they suggest they may be Haribo golden bears & not as you suggest. This needs to be cleared up. In the morning im going through the bins to see if the packet gives us a clue.
