Nice project and great work
Always loved the Manta coupe shape, remember seeing Jimmy McRae in the red Ac Delco Manta 400 a couple of times, great car.
I used to run an Ascona Berlina SR which was like a 4 door manta, they were nicely specced cars back in the day.

Excellent combination mate, I had a cavalier coupe with a pinto fitted and a manta
with a 400 kit and a pinto fitted about 20 years ago, my mate and his dad had 2
manta i240's, my mates 1 was seriously quick and featured in a mag back then, 1 of my other mates had a i200 with the rothmans colours.

spent all day with my little brother Andrew putting the new rear 1/4 on
Only took about 10 grands worth of tools,a fully fitted garage and 20 man hours!
next is to splice the manta loom into the cossie and modify the downpipe to take a mock up exhaust

Got an overhung bias pedal box for a mk1 escort with willwood master cylinders

Not a lot done on the car due to work but the good thing about being busy at work means you can spend more on the manta :-0
Some new parts arrived into the garage this week.
Still waiting for the Swedish inlet from G19engineering.
Should be here next week.
Always wanted one of these for the pit. Probably only use it one or two times but should be invaluable when needed

8mm plug leads and dizzy cap
BMW loom tape for the engine loom
My new welder deserved a new mate so a speedglass one to suit
Piper cams cambelt arrived and the aluminium bar for the concentric release bearing
Arrrgggghhhhh my expensive dewalt grinder armature died so I'm fed up of buying angle grinders
So it's back to screwfix cheap ones.
Ł25 for 1000w.
Bought 2 and one was faulty straight out of the box. I must be lucky!

How did I miss this?! Awesome!
Bosch are the only grinders to use, all ours at work are and the only problems we get are when people drop steel on the fookin cable! Or the brushes wear down.

Did a bit of work to the intercooler holes in the front end.
Decided to cut the entire panel out ( yep I'm doing the job twice, again!)
Then made a new panel out of zintec and did a nice hole with a cover
It's here!!!!!!
Swedish inlet manifold made by Doug at G19 Engineering.
Topped off by a quick release vac line kit from Eneboengineering
Complete with a one piece throttle cable mount
The manifold is fantastic, great fabrication. Made from 10mm plate ends and what feels like a 5mm+ case.
Check out the welds
It should go well once fitted with the fuel rail and this new pressure reg
Bailey breather to go onto the engine too
I bought another engine loom, need to check it and wrap it. Getting a good Cossie loom has been difficult. I now have 3.
This latest one cost 100 quid and still needed a slight rewire due to added wires and alarm shit
Warming the manta gte loom to refit for dry build of engine
I want to get 400 bhp out of the engine, can anyone point me towards what I need to do
( for 400, greys,tp09, L8, 3bar, t38, bd10 bd14, breather, ?) but what actuator? Do I need to go wasted spark? what psi do I need to run? Should I strip and inspect the engine? It came out of a low mileage car but as we know it might of been ragged for those miles!

Tried the new manifold on, fits great. Thank's to Doug at G19 Engineering
I have 3 cosworth looms now as you won't believe how hard it is to get a good one.
Breather, the high power cossies have to breathe from both sides of the block and not from the cover ( but you all know that)
Ł300 later at torques I might have the parts
Another Ł100 on teflon braided lines and torques fittings for the fuel rail
Cut the end off the rail
Add -AN6 fitting
Then return fitting and teflon lined braided nylon pipe
Kidney box deleted and a fitting inserted
Then a AN10 fitting added
On the other side the fitting looks wrong. I bought AN-10 to 1/2 NPT. It's 3/8 NPT to AN-10 I need so another one ordered this week.
It all leads up to the bailey breather. I need a fitting welding into the sump for the oil return
I'm using stainless braided pipe covered in a nylon braid for all the pipes
Inlet needed a special tool to be made to release the fitting
I will have to have a AN-6 fitting tigged into here onto the inlet
Header tank bought and polished
Swirl pot needs some work
FPR polished but I may put the anodised one on
PF09 bought, I know need a L8 ECU
Hartge wheels anyone?

Ahhhhhhhh, to have a clean pit, all the s##t ends up in their
Last nights work in the garage. Henry the hoover who lives in the pit decided he didn't want to play anymore so he has stripped and rebuilt, now he can clean the pit again.
The computer screens, one got an upgrade and one a downgrade, the 42" plasma was swopped out for a 37" LCD and the 17" LCD swapped out for a 27" LCD. With the dual screen graphics card on pan it gives an effective ( if not slightly ineffective due to resolutions) 64" display and no Image retention worries as the plasma has gone

Little update
Temp boss and ford sender now welded into radiator
Fuel rail inlet modified with a AN-6 male to male turned down and tigged into it to allow a proper AN -6 connector
Intercooler may be getting a drain put into the bottom.
Reference pic left to right.... Calibra turbo.. 2WD cossie.... Frontera TD... RS500 cossie
