oh yeah, picked up another gear knob, if your still after one,

was told by a mate to pop the plastic indicator bit out 1st before fitting, so you don't crack it.

well not the best day all in all.

car went really well but has got a problem by the time i got home which Harvey is going to fix free of charge which is fair enough, I have just got to get back there.

a pic of it back at home!

so in the mean time thought i would set about sorting a few things out.

first thing was putting on the steering wheel i bought, old one as with everything else on this car so far is bodged and not done properly at all. standard one fits on perfect! although very poor condition but cant moan for Ł15

Anyone know someone that could trim the outer ring?

Then i unboxed these and fitted them! no pic of them fitted (started to get bored)

Then i thought i would move round to the front and get the fog lights and front ambers fitted. However as usual with this car that did not go well.

everything out!

To find yet another broken wire and one of the plastic clips that hold the fog lights in missing, Where can you buy these? they are what the ball of the fog light fits in.

So that halted proceedings on the right, so i did the left got pissed off and came in.

Not a very good day...

tomorrow i will try and work out why the speedo doesn't work (never has, previous owner told me just that cable wasn't on, its not that!) the gearstick gator, and trying to get the fuse box to sit properly!

Well what a day at harveys!

a very confusing problem sorted and im now really happy with car! Idles lovely and quite and goes really well for what it is. Harvey and Jimbo did so much to get the car perfect with a great condition inlet cam and some proper INA lifters instead of the mismatched ones that were in it. And whats more didnt ask for a penny!!!
and Jim even fixed my ongoing fusebox issue so im chuffed and it now sits lovely!

massive thanks to all of them down there for being so hospitable and going above and beyond to get it all sorted, couldn't recommend them enough.

so now its ready for wheels to go off to new owner and the sideskirts to come off and be sorted, also want to recondition my steering wheel and sort fuel rail out as all the paint is flaking off. It never ends!

atleast now i can concentrate on tidying as its all running A1, got a grind between 1st and 2nd on full boost already though Haha.

It's horrible when all they do is kick you in the face after you spend so much money on them... It's a great feeling when all the hard work finally pays off...
Looks nice...
We need to see some pics of it clean though...

So tonight it goes back in the air again for probably around a month.

In this time i will fit my new brakes, get the sideskirts off and refit them properly and fit my new radiator and fans and braided fan loom.

will update with some pics later.

Most exciting of all the next time it goes back on the floor will be on my new Monte wheels! As soon as they arrive that is.

agreed it does look like a crack, when i took it off i thought it was a mark that was supposed to be there.

i dont think it would make much difference being there but maybe i will look out for another one.

also, the inner and outer boots are different, the outer ones you can get fairly easily, but the inner ones seem to be very hit and miss as to getting the correct one, regardless of whats written in the book

ah ok, maybe thats why this one has just decided to eat itself!

i have had another look at the cover and yes the crack is massive (goes right down) so i suppose i better replace it. and yes it was a bit of a bitch.

if you have that cover it would be great?

So thought i would make a list to do which may give me some motivation to crack on. left it well alone today which i really shouldn't of.

today due to the boot and driveshafts just keep falling apart and the cracking of the speedo sensor i have bought new (fully reconditioned) uprated driveshafts which hopefully will arrive quickly.

so a small list

Refit speedo cover etc
Fit new driveshafts
Fit new front brakes
remove other sideskirt
rub down small amount of surface rust around a couple of sideskirt holes treat and protect.
Refit sideskirts

Fit new alloy rad and Spal Fans
Fit braided uprated fan loom

all ready for new wheels to arrive

sorry but i find working down a list kind of helps.
