Default knackered rings?

hello.when turning my rs zvh over i only have compression in number four cylinder.the car has been sat for about 4 years and i bought it as a non runner to restore to full health.ive been told this could be stuck or knackered but someone says that the hydraulic lifters could be the problem.the car does fire up after about 2 mins of turning over!!!!!any hints or tips would be gratefully received!!!!

That is strange what did you get for compression in number 4 cylinder then?Take the plugs out of 1 to 3 cylinders and put a teaspoon of oil down each hole.It will or should make a seal round the rings to test and go from there

It could be that some of the valves are stuck partly open.
