Hi im considering doing a sleeper project for my next car I have seen a 1983 5dr escort 1.3 ghia and thinking of puting rs turbo engine into it and was just looking for advice about best way to get project started

 

i may be wrong so dont quote me but belive you need the inner wing cut of a mk3 cvh car and welded too yours.. i think u can use escort no turbo van box or ov a mk3 s1 lsd box and mounting should be the same.. tank, lines, full loom.. like i say dont quote me thou

 

I will look more into it, thanks for your advice, im hoping I could get it done as I would love to see the faces of all the idiots who drive the corsa's and saxo's and with having the sleeper look and the power from the rs engine should be a good car to drive

 

haha converting my mk4 escort to zetec at mo goin.. i had a mk3 ghia 1.6... please tell me its gold ?

 

The one ive seen is a light blue colour but so will prob just keep it that colour as want it to keep the aged look

 

yeah mine was gold... werst mistake of my life getting rid of it :'(

 

Ive had a couple projects before biggest one I had was a nova and managed to fit a calibra engine into it but always prefered my fords

One of my friends knows a guy who has a accident damaged s2 rs turbo up for sale all rear damage could be worth a look as I could get everything I need but all depends if the price is right

 

im not too clued up on turbo but in my eyes fiesta turbo the better one.. from what mates had trouble is metering units and the fiesta doesnt use one.. but again no quoting haha

 

Not fully made mind up what to do all I have decided is im wanting to start with a old 5dr escort as having back doors would be easier to get kids in and out

 

buy it and leave a 1300 just make it super clean were isit ebay ?

 

Its not been advertised yet its through a friend of a friend its geting advertised soon but ive got first offer on it, its got a few engine problems thats why im considering a full engine swap

 

majour probs ?? the 1.3's easy too work on again i had one but was a mk4 popular

 

Not sure of the problems its got the guy has just gave up with it and needs the space in his garage so he can start a new project
