lol, i dont work mate, haven't for a long time, though this year was suppose to be me looking at setting my own place up doing car restorations etc, mainly fords, but with the shit start, ive decided to just carry with my own cars for now, and then sort a new plan out to set up on my own and try and do it for a living
Or a drug dealer cos job seakers wouldn't pay for all that

lol, ive been signed off for over ten years, not on job seekers, but i do a bit now and then on ebay and peoples cars so keeps me going
but id really like to get into it as a business, its just getting the cash together to start up and getting business, theres not a lot i cant do but its money to get going as well as finding custom for work, as id mainly offer under side restos on fords becuase there the easiest to do lol, but then general repairs and servicing as well, but its not cheap to set up especially if things go wrong

another update
things seem to be going backwards lol, ive been waiting two days for a mate to come round and fire watch as i need to weld this plate, id do it myself alone but i filled where i have to weld with wax oil and my luck lately i need someone there, its put me two days behind now
so i cleaned all the welds up on bulkhead and finished welding the studs in so all brackets are now finished for the later dash , which ill be be buying tomorrow as ones ive found arnt complete
so alls ive been doing is cleaning and getting stuff ready for powder coating
so some pics
finished the pedal box, all painted and re greased and polished the pedals lol
then time to strip the bent rack down
the arm that was bent, both these will be replaced
then i need the allot casing off, so i took the pipes off and needed the shaft in at the other end, so i pushed it, which was a bad idea becuase all the fluid sprayed out all over me face and hit the roof of the garage covering everything
so all cleaned up, i took it back to metal and put it in zinc primer
was then painted black, no pic as i forgot, all masked up and painted silver
also primed the pump cover on abs motor, i also polished the alloy on it but no pics until tomorrow
and the brackets and studs for new dash
i also ordered every single brake line, clip and bolt from mitsibushi, down side is they can take upto 60 days to turn up, im gona order new brake bottles and caps next week as well, should have my loom this week as well so i can hopefully crack on with that again

rust bullet applied
sealed up again
and a lick of paint, i ran out of gloss black so i just brushed some paint on saved on masking the whole car up

they gurantee rust bullet for 10 years, just order it off there website, hes uk based
its like pox15 but i think its better as this is all you need, with the pox 15 you need primers and extras to make it work properly, this stuff is rock solid when its dry as well

started the rear diff today, plan was to just clean and paint but i got a bit carried away and it ended up being stripped so i can clean and paint lol
nice to see theres no wear anywhere on the diff itself as well, i needed to strip it anyhow because it was leaking from the sealant on ayc side, if anyone knows what sealant i should use to put it back together let me know please
so the filthy diff
strip down
masked up and cleaned
primed ready for paint tomorrow
all the bolts brackets plates are going to be cleaned and re plated so it all looks nice as well, so diff will be back together next weekend if i can get the sealant

Wow, just wow. Looks gorgeous all the underneath and engine bay mint like that!!!
One question though, is just laquar underneath strong enough against stone chips? Not a critisisum, I genually have no idea about underside restorations.

there isnt anything else you can use thats clear and shiney
id imagine it would be strong enough, but obviosuly your going to expect damage from stones etc anyhow, hence all the prep work before hand

little update
rear shocks are painted and ready, goingto buy new adjuster rings and see if they will sell me stickers as well, just got front ones to do over the weekend
before and after
had these arrive so i can get the bushes out the diff carriers to get them powder coated
my automatic parcel opener
and inside was this e7 dash bar
removed the original dash bar and all my brackets ive made have no gone, theres no going back now
started on the brackets for the dash, need to weld the slits up now there in position, ive elongated the holes becuase i need to tack this in place with dash in way
with doing the dash this way i can run the later column as well, and will be less trimming for the dash board, its only moved forward slightly which i can live with
then down the dealers, more new brake pipes and clutch pipe and fuel hose
all new clips, nuts, pipes etc for fuel tank, basically everything on the tank bar the main filler neck (order next week) and the breather filter pipe as i need to move this
new clutch bottle and brackets etc, waiting on brake bottle to turn up at dealer
and bolts, nuts and clips that hold the ayc pump to the car and its brackets, my rubber grommits were ok so ill re use these
this is the pipe that has gone back to dealer for them to sort against the original, it just needs re bending correctly so i taped them together to show them what needs doing, should get that back next week with everything else thats been ordered to get the brake pipes in

well, been messing around and struggling but managed to get the dash sorted lol
duno how i managed it but i just got a couple of crap tacks on and it held where i need it, so off came the dash and welded the brackets up a little bit ready for tomorrow
so couple of pics of the bar and brackets, i do have to strengthen the brackets but now there on, the dash needs a little trimming, then i can work on the top half, the dash is higher than before so its something i have to get used too, im going to try and bend it in towards the windscreen if i can as it does sit higher than what i wanted
pic of door card, it fits as it is, but pushes against the dash, so the triangle section will be cut out and moved in then re shaped, but ill do these after the dash is in fully
and mt front shocks all painted, the boot lid hinges make great props for them to dry lol
im also going to paint all my new brake lines in this colour as well, just to give the under side some colour and better protection on the pipes

well bit of a productive day
ive managed to finish off the brackets and strengthen them up, trimmed the dash a little, which needs finishing off and the dash is in
the top ive used the two original locators i just extended them a bit, but its only held on at the top by two centre studs, there is no way of making anything up to locate the dash on the outer edges, you can push on it and it does move at the top but not a lot, the rest of the dash is solid, im hoping once the a pillars are trimmed and finished these will hold the sides of the dash down
anyhow some pics
brackets with some strengthen plates, not brilliant but strong and awkward to get into to weld lol
dash in and checking leg room as i was concerned about it being to far forward and low, but its spot on, we for me anyhow lol
the sides, i have to extend these to meet the door seal and trim round the a pillar a bit more still
checking door card alignment, cant close drivers door yet as havent cut it out, and when i do it pushes the door card up
can see the passenger door card cut out and position of dash, bot equal widths apart from door seal as well which was nice
how it looks all bolted up
can see how high it is, i need someone to measure there screen for me from outside, basically i need the height of the black strip part at the botoom, so from bottom of screen to top of black strip to see if dash is hidden
and i couldnt resist so went and got whatever trim panels i had for the car inc centre console and fitted them to get an overall view, im happy the glove box opens perfectly as the last dash was twisted and it didnt work lol
closes the passenger door to mark out some more trimming
got the dash a bit lower on the screen
side view
and drivers door wedge shut, can see the top of the card being pushed up
over all im happy with the dash in position now, though ill admit my seat could do with raising but will see what its like when its all finished, just got a steering column as well, just need a wheel/airbag and clock spring, as well as the rest of the trim panels for the dash
its getting there, tomorrow im going to make brackets up for centre console and to bolt the bottom of the centre dash in, then its just trimming and sanding and filling to get it to shape

nope, will need some major trimming, well ive trimmed the drivers side, and couple of little mods it will fit but wont close, where it meets the dash needs to be chhopped out and moved closer to the door, nothing major, then its just a case of working out how to mount it to the door, but im sure a couple of self tapers in certain places will do as long as they dont look out of place

not much of an update, had no car again came out yesterday to flat tyres lol, so had to go collect everything on my bike today, what a mission, luckily the shot blasting parts arnt ready until monday, but still had two tins of zinc coated bolts and had to take two trips to pick up two infra red heaters lol
so ive been painting my new brake pipes the same colours as the shocks, i didnt like the brown/green colour plus it wasnt fully covered so would rust easier, so painted some to give extra protection
as i had the bolts back from plating, i assembled the rear diff, got some black rtv but made a little mess, so its just gonna have to stay as it is now, complete nightmare to assemble as well
just need to get washer for fill and drain bolts now, hope it works and dont leak lol
the bolts and brackets that have been plated, though the bolts are being replaced with new items, its nice to have some just incase
one of the infra red heaters, got these for when i paint the car to help dry when the time comes as they were on offer
and the first bracket fitted in the engine bay lol
im going to finish off the brake lines i have, start on driveshafts as well and get the rear subframe painted next

ive got to re position them, as according to insutructions there too close to roof, but where they need to be would be half way down the garage wall so unsure what to do lol
#157
got the sound padding on the bulkhead, so now i just need to get a heater box and the large sound pad then i can fit the loom and start the loom again
cleaned and painted two cv joints for rear diff, not finished yet as need to add black
repainted the clutch cylinder as wasnt happy with it
fitted clutch pipe bracket to bulkhead with stainless bolts
hopefully get the clutch cylinder fitted tonight once dry with new bottle and cap aswell, and nice new pipe
also messed around with a broken light took it apart removed ornage filament and painted the chrome black

little update
ive managed to get the brake pipes underneath sorted, as im waiting on stuff i cant seem to do much, so today went and got my brake pipe that was bent for me then came home and sorted them
i had my steering column turn up, but was gutted that my ognition barrel doesnt fit, so now i need a later ignition barrel and boot lock, i thought i need door locks, but then found out by swapping the front and rear door handles over i can de lock it
column in
brake lines being painted
fitted though second pic i used wrong clip, took a while to work out what clip is for what, i used stainless fixings as well, bar behind the tank as i never had any short ones, and yes i know the cars dusty underneath lol
so once i get the new brake bottle i can fit the master cylinder, then the rest of the pipes and have fun working out what clip is what again lol, powder coated bits are here tomorrow or friday, so that means my fuel tank can be fitted as well and my ayc pump, but i may need a new solenoid for that first as i broke the conector
