Hi all Newbie here i thought i would share with you my latest project. After owning 5 200sx s14's an mr2 turbo and r32 gtst i wanted something different. so with some help from the father in law i bought this.

As you can see she was a bit tired and in a bit of a mess but all the bits was there.
After a few weeks of tidying and a bit of a spending spree she started to take shape.

After enjoying a few weeks of trouble free motoring i started having what i thought was fueling issues one min running fine the next she was spluttering and cutting out i also notice that it was running really hot. I did a compresstion check as a quick test and found that the motor was down on 2 and 3 so i sent the head off the be skimmed, I decided to use this as an excuse to raise the compression ratio so had a fair bit took off, 80 thou iirc. Once i got the head back i gave all the ports a good going over and put a Kent fast road cam in. At this time i decided to go through the whole fueling system. I got a new tank, run new fuel lines, facet electric fuel pump and in-line filter and with pressure regulater and a DGAS carb.

After putting it all back together i was still having a problem of missfiring i changed the leads plugs new dizzy cap and rotor arm but at high revs it was still missing so a quick re think i bought a luminition ignition kit and changed the carb for a set of twin 40's and hey presto with a bit of tweeking she ran beautifully. i cant belive the difference the luminiton set up made.

Happy with the engine i turned my attention to the rear suspension as with my new found power the car was tramping extremly bad. After reading a few books i decided to replicate an american design known as slapper bars. Whilst i had it all stripped down i decided to paint all the bits.

I started to mock up the slapper bar kit.

Whilst i was waiting for the delivery of the tubes for the kit i cracked on painting the the under of the car and all the bits.

In between all the painting and fabricating i have also fitted a cage and mocked up how i want the car to sit.

So im just waiting for my next delivery of goodies.
Coilover convertion kit
old ford autos top mout to bring the struts in at the top
175 50 13 tyres
Jaz seat
hydro handbrake

Few more bits to carry on with whilst im waiting for the rest of the parts so some more coats of paint on the axle and other bits and to start to paint the bottom of the car.

Hope you like guys and girls.

Hi all thought i better update my thread, i have made a fair bit of progress over the last few days. i'll let the pics do most of the talking.
So i finally got all the bits i needed to finish off the front strut conversion.
The main job was to get the inserts out after a bit of lubing and praying, they came out rather nicely.

leaving me with just the leg.

So after getting my favourite power tool out i got stuck in.

I then positioned the threaded sleeve ready for father in law to weld it for me.

Hi guys just a few vids from the hot rod drags this weekend. it was my first time drag racing and the first real shakedown for the car, I had a few small issues but nothing major. and with a time of 16.64 for the first run and 16.96 with a missfire on the second run i went home a very happy chap. Bring on ford frenzy.
